Assalamualaikum,

My sister & I were at our friend's open house this afternoon (we came separately, I with my parents and she with her family). We were talking about something, when our former teacher, who was also there, remarked that we both talked as if we haven't met for a long time.

We both pause, and my sister said that it has been a week or so that we haven't met. I told her that I have been living in the same room with my sister for almost 25 years. We're roomates for so long, that we have shared so many things between us. The longest we haven't met nowadays is 2 weeks.

I used to fight with her on nitty gritty matters, we share clothes, she's the one who cleans the toilet  & I cleaned our bedroom. We were even in the same faculty. She in Quantity Surveying while I were in Architecture. We also share the same transport. Although some of my friends doesn't believe that she's my sister. We both look different enough and some even assumed that she's the elder sister and I'm the younger ones. Well, she does looks more mature than me.

I was very worried when she was near to giving birth to her first born. I didn't sleep well until dawn because at that time our parents were performing the hajj. It overwhelmed me so much to see my first nephew. On her second born, she also called me to come to the hospital as at that time my parents were not around too. From time to time now I do called her to get some advice, to talk to my nephews and to just ask how she is.

True, after you have been together with someone for so long, and now you don't live together, you will miss them even for a short while. After all, she is my sister forever here and the hereafter.
