Aku Muslim Yang Baik..Final Entry for 2007

Monday, 31 December 2007
Itulah yang dikatakan Pak Lah
Mari kita semua ucap Alhamdulillah
Diharap semua menteri ikut jejak langkah
Mulakan dengan bertaubat nasuhah
Bagaimana pula dengan Jean Abdullah
Bila nak memilih ikut perintah Allah
Bukan cuma bertudung masa kenduri arwah

Mari kita lihat ciri-ciri
Muslim sejati
Supaya menjadi panduan suami-isteri
Pertama kita mesti beriman dengan Almighty
Tuhan untuk semua makhluk dibumi
Apa yang disuruh kita patuhi
Apa yang dilarang kita jauhi
Selain mengerjakan solat, berpuasa dan haji
Keluarkan zakat tanpa memikirkan rugi
Makan dari sumber yang halal dan suci
Maka bertambah keberkatan kita punya rezeki

Selain itu hati dan tutur kata mestilah ikhlas
Kita mesti tunaikan apa yang telah dituntas
Bercakap semua boleh mudah dan pantas
Namun kelakuan dan perangai mestilah seiras
Sebab malaikat catat tanpa henti tanpa batas
Baik buruk semua dicatat tidak terlepas
Sebesar zarah pun dikira juga tidak terlepas
Termasuk harta negara yang dikebas
Tak kiralah untung besar seperti Petronas
Komisen senjata atau misi angkasa lepas
Malaikat merupakan Suruhanjaya Bebas
Tidak terikat dengan UMNO atau PAS

Sebab tu kita mesti berhati-hati
Sebab suruhanjaya bebas sedang perati
Dia repot terus kat Allah bukan Perdana Menteri
Dia punya kontrak bukan disambung setahun sekali
Kita terima rasuah berguni-guni
Sebab kita yakin tak ada sapa boleh bawa bukti
Tapi kita lupa Allah sentiasa memerhati!

Semoga menjadi iktibar

My HAPPY...HAPPY me

Assalamualaikum...

I finally received my new HAPPY sim card yesterday. For those of you who don't know it yet, HAPPY is the new mobile provider under DiGi. The differences from other telcos are:
  1. You can reload any amount and get 60 days airtime validity. Let say you reload RM 10, you will get airtime of 60 days. That's loooooong....
  2. No matter how long you call, you will only be charged RM 0.99/call max..and not per minute. I test it today by making 10 minutes call and was charge RM 0.99. And even if you make a short call less than a minute, they will only charge at 1 sen/sec.
  3. You can SMS to other telcos at only RM 0.10/SMS. Other telcos only charge less if it is SMS-ing between the same telco, but charge at RM0.15/SMS between different telcos.
Now I have another mobile number other than my current one. This one is exclusively to make calls & SMS to certain numbers only. HAPPY mobile numbers starts with 014-xxxxxxx (of course I can't reveal my number..it's private information)

My Brand New Laptop

Thursday, 13 December 2007

Assalmualaikum..

Finally I managed to fulfilled one of my 3 targets that is to buy a new laptop.

I manage to buy my new HP Compaq at a price of RM 1799 last Sunday. Quite cheap for me and I still have half the budget that I allocated for the laptop.

I bought a freedos laptop as new laptop today are installed with Windowa Vista which I don't because of the graphic work that I'm going to do.

With freedos I can install Windows XP which I prefer. But, unfortunately, as with all freedos laptops, you have to install all the drivers too. It was cumbersome but luckily I got my brother to do the work for me. It took him nearly 3 days just to get my laptop working properly.
With 15.1" screen, AMD Turion 64 x2, 512 ram, Nvidia graphic card, DVD & CD writer, and 120 GB hardisk I couldn't ask for more. Plus I bought a wireless laser mouse. All in all it just cost me RM 2+++. Oh yeah..HP also gave me 9 in 1 freebies. I got:
  1. Laptop cooler
  2. Laptop mini vacuum
  3. CD holder
  4. Mouse
  5. USB Light
  6. USB ports
  7. LCD & CD cleaner
  8. Notebook lock
  9. Multimedia headphone

Salam...

Now I can start doing my work...

Solitary Drive

Monday, 10 December 2007
Assalamualaikum...

I've fallen in love driving lately. Not that I just learn to drive, mind you I've been driving for 10 years now, it's because driving allows me to have my solitary moments.

Quiet time for me is when I drive from home to work and vice versa. No matter how long the drive will take me and and how long I' m stuck in the traffic jam, I'll always relish my driving moments.
But for me to immerse in my solitary & quiet moments, I must drive alone.

I don't know about you, but that is the only time I have for myself. At home, I don't have time as I live with my family. It's more enjoyable to interact with them than lock yourself up in the room.

Being an INFJ, you'll need to be alone to recharge your life battery.

The Departure of the Old Wise Man

Wednesday, 5 December 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Yes, En. Nasir., this entry refers to you. It was Suhaimi who said you are an 'old wise man'..hehehe
In our young eyes, you appear wise. Maybe because you have experienced so much in life and work.

Rasa sedih pula bila En. dah takde di ofis ni. Kalau tak, selalu dengar suara En. dan En. Azizan je bercakap. Org lain semua senyap. La ni, En. Azizan takde partner utk berbincang, dia asyik kacau Suhaimi ajela..Itupun mungkin tak lama sebab Suhaimi pun akan pindah ke JMD Arkitek.

Ok En. semoga En. menjalani rawatan kesihatan dengan teratur bila dah berhenti ni. Harap-harap kesihatan En. pulih menjadi sihat. Jangan lupa kami-kami di sini.

Salam...

Friend Test

Tuesday, 4 December 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Do you notice the friend test box at the right hand column?
I invented the questions, and am forgetting some of the answers!!! Hahahaha...
See..I do have a short term memory loss..It's good though. At least I forget easily those who offends me.

Salam all...

I'm Being Sarcastic Today

Assalamualaikum.

Today I'm going to be sarcastic. Why? Because some of the 'stupid' office staffs are so not 'clever' at cleaning the pantry. It's messy, it's sticky and remnants of yesterday's tea bags lying around.

So I put a note on the wall, stating that they are all 'clever' enough to clean the mess made.
(In fact I clean up for them, even though I never eat there).

Hah!!! Being sarcastic sure made them afraid of me!!!

Salam all...

p/s: uh..oh..I've broken my very 1st rule of not gossiping about office matter. And that includes' yesterday entry.

When I'm Angry

Monday, 3 December 2007
There are 3 kind of signs that you can spot when I'm angry:
  1. I keep silent despite you talking to me.
  2. Regardless whether you are older or younger than me, I will call you "Engkau" and I calling myself "Aku" when I scold or shout at you.
  3. I vent my anger in English. It satisfies me to call you "stupid" when in fact you really are "stupid" but don't realise it. The word sounds better than calling you "bodoh" right?...
And yes, by this posting, I'm angry at the moment with my stupid staff!!!

In Power

Thursday, 29 November 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Too much power makes you addictive to it if you don't have much integrity.
Take for example the President of Pakistan.
You can't deny that having power make things work for you. Some people might even do the work for you. You can amass richess just by being in power.
But power without responsibility is dangerous. Having power may beget insatiable lust for more power.
Having power is a heavy responsibility for those who have high integrity. They know that they will have to answer to Allah in the day of judgement.

Salam..

from the person who doesn't have any power.

My Perspective

Tuesday, 6 November 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Wow!! It's been a while since I last posted anything. It's nearing the end of Syawal now.
OK here goes...

We live in this world where everyone was brought up differently and of different personality as well. I'm an INFJ to be exact. When we encounter problems or scenario, our perspective on things are shaped by that very moment. Be it bad or good, we use that experience as our yard stick.

I don't know about you, but I'm late to respond to anything. I always remind myself that things are not always what they appear to be. This perspective resulted due to me judging people and having bad thoughts about them previously. And sometimes later I would found out that it was not true of what I thought about those people. My guilty conscience being strong, I regret it.

That's why now if there was any news, hearsay or 'khabar angin' as they say it in Malay, I will ask directly to the person named in those hearsays. It's morally correct to hear it straight from the horses mouth.

Sometimes news passed from one person to another has been glazed many times, until you don't exactly see what the filling was. Furthermore your perception of that person will shaped at that very moment without you having to be in contact with the said person. Is that right? I don't think so. You see, I would not like people to think bad about me too. So why start thinking bad about others. What goes around comes around...

So start having good perspective about others until that person tells you otherwise...ahahahaha..
Am I talking in abstract here?..what can I say, I'm an INFJ after all..oh yes, one more things, I forgive but can't seem to forget. So beware, don't cross me or you'll be banish in my ugly realm of mind (sheesh..another abstract thinking. I really got to stop this)

See you later.

Wassalam

Eid Mubarak

Wednesday, 17 October 2007

Assalamualaikum buat semua..
Salam Eid Mubarak saya ucapkan. Dah lama rasanya tak update blog ni.
Anyway, I had an eventful raya even though it's just for one day. The most important thing is not where you celebrate raya but with who you celebrate raya.
Whether it's in Manchester or in Machang, if you celebrate raya with family, it'll be the most happiest day to you.
This year I just celebrate raya in my father's kampung in Klang (10 minutes drive from my house) and then we went to my aunt's (my mother's sister) house in Klang also to visit my grandmother (my mother's mother) who is very ill now. If she were well, we would've have gone to Mersing, Johor. But that was not meant to be. I pray for my grandmother's well being. Amin.
Oh yeah!! this is the first time in my life I spend the 2nd day raya at home. Takla rasa sunyi mana pun. Ok je..

The 1st day of break fast..bread, wedges & fried rice.

I'm Too Sensitive

I'm an iNFJ. Thus I have too much empathy. I can sense someone's feelings just by listening to voices. I kind of absorb that feeling..and it hurt me a lot actually. That's why I don't like tense meeting where sometimes the attendees tend to voice out their disappointment, anger, frustration and so on. I will absorb it all an it affects me so much which later if I can't control all those feelings inside me, I will cry then and there..and often people wouldn't know & understand why I'm crying.
Hearing someone talking to other person (the conversation are not related to me) also take a toll on me. I can sense his/her frustration towards the other person. Sometimes I have to walk away. I can't stop this things but I can walk away. I tend to not bother with other people because of this.
I wonder..should I have been a counselor, I will go crazy I think..

Ahlan Wa Sahlan!!!!

Yay!!!
Ahlan Wa Sahlan ya Ramadhan!!!
Seronoknya rasa dah Puasa semula..hehehe..

To all readers, Selamat Berpuasa, Selamat Bersahur, Selamat Bertadarus & Selamat Bertarawikh...

Aim, Execute & Enjoy

Friday, 7 September 2007
Beginning this month I have a few aims that I must execute to enjoy them by the end of 1 year. They are:
  1. Buy a new laptop.
  2. Downpayment for a new car.
  3. Flight to Ireland.
I need RM 12,000 for all three. And for that I have to save RM 1,000 each month until September 2008. I already started my first saving this month. Hope there will be no distraction & emergency that involves a huge sum of money.

I Don't Know Anything

Sunday, 26 August 2007
I was awake last night and been doing a lot of thinking. I then came to a realisation:

Pn. Shima knows a lot about our project and I don't.
Suhaimi knows how to design and I don't.
Rahmat knows all about computers and cars and I don't.
Firdaus knows how to do 3D and I don't.
Haslina knows about costing and QS stuff and I don't.
Hanum knows how to sensible and I don't (I guess..)
Mardiana knows how to sort things out and I don't (I guess...)
Saza knows how to arrange for food & drinks for meetings and I surely don't.
Kak Shima knows all about accounting and I surely don't.
En. Nasir knows all about contract, costing, etc and I 100% don't.
En. Burhan knows all about M&E matter and I don't.
En. Azri knows about construction and I don't.
En. Azizan knows about the ever evolving project cost and I surely don't.

This then came to the next point..

What Do I Know???
I Don't Know Anything!!!

Shopping Therapy

Sunday, 19 August 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Yesterday I went on a shopping therapy.
I'm not a shopaholic. I only shop for clothes & shoes every 3 months. It seems that yesterday I went shopping as if I'm shopping for a year. I can't help it. I'm having problems which is difficult to overcome. That's why I decided to go shopping although I feel somewhat guilty as I already went shopping last weekend...
Guilty or not, it's my money I'm spending and I feel good after that...
Hmm..lets not forget that I still need to pay for my monthly parking pass this Monday...

Things to Ponder

Friday, 17 August 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Here's 2 questions to ponder..
  1. Does driving manual car makes the driver concetrate more on the road or auto transmission does?
  2. Why does Malay people when they speak Malay to Chinese or Indian they tend to speak Malay the way Chinese or Indian do? (no pun intended to the Chinese or Indian, it's just that if you speak a certain language you must speak properly. And I don't mean that Chinese & Indian can't speak proper Malay. My aunt is Chinese and she teaches Bahasa Melayu to boot too.)

50th Merdeka

Tuesday, 14 August 2007
You must always remember that no matter how high you climb up, you must come
down the same way. Be good to those you meet on the way up. When you come down, you will meet them again, unless of course you decide to jump down and break your neck!

Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra

1st Prime Minister of Malaysia

4 am in the morning..today

Thursday, 9 August 2007
Salam.

No, its not related to Gwen Stefani's song. That indicate the time that I finished reading the last installation of Harry Potter's book: The Deathly Hallows, which took a while actually, since I bought it on 21. July.2007.
What I can summarized is that I was quite lost in some of the plot because I'm not really a fan of Harry Potter, so some of the character are lost on me. Furthermore, trying to remember all the other characters other than Harry, Ron & Hermione, and the evolving plot are quite troublesome. I could not understand some of the plot anyway and it is sort of 'dark & sinister'. I doubt a child of 8 years old can understand this chapter anyway.
Anyhow, that's my personal opinion..

Still coughing..

Wednesday, 8 August 2007
Assalamualaikum..

This week will mark 1 month of constance coughing. Truth be told my throat is getting hoarser by the minute. It hurts to swallow food and if I'm not careful I may throw up the food. The Dr doesn't know what's wrong. My phlegm is clear now after 3 dose of antibiotics. Now I'm on asthma medication. Didn't know you could get asthma when you're older. My siblings do have asthma though.
At least today is the second day that I didn't woke up every 2 hours just because of coughing. Mind you the cough syrup doesn't help at all. But still I do throw up every now and then when I cough. So got to watch out what I eat and where I'm at. Don't want to throw up by the roadsides...

I'd Never Thought I Would Do It

Saturday, 21 July 2007
Assalamualaikum...

I'd never thought I would do it. Yesterday I've read in the newspaper that the last installation of Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows will be on sale on 21 July 2007 at 7.01 am.
Last night I've been thinking, since the book is on sale in MPH, Borders, Popular, Times, Tesco and Carrefour, why not buy one. Carrefour Klang is just 3 minutes away from my house.
So in the early morning after Subuh prayer, I was contemplating whether to go or not. In the end I did go. Exactly at 7.01 am I was at the Carrefour entrance, and by 7.15 am I already bought the book. The book cost RM 69.90 and Carrefour gave away goodie bags with it.
Come to think of it, why did I go that extent to buy Harry Potter?
Well, I'm in a dying need of a book to read. I've already exhausted all reading materials at home..
Waiting for Pay Less Book Fair to come to Kompleks PKNS on the 26 July 2007 is a long time.
Alas!!! I would not be the 1st person to read the book, I've only read up 50 pages when I had to go to the office. My brother is reading it...ggrrrrrr... (takpe la bagi chance..nanti dah balik Hospital Kuantan tak boleh baca pulak kan...)

I'M COLD!!!

Wednesday, 18 July 2007
It's friggin cold!!!
I'm shaking in my office because it's very cold eventhough I have my sweater on.
Actually I just got back from the clinic. I'm having a bad cough with mucus in my lungs.
The doctor says that's its due to my alergies..
The cold temperature in my office is not helping at all..

Inai

Tuesday, 17 July 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Just for your info, I'm wearing 'inai' just for the fun of it.
No meaning behind it and
'NO' I'm not engaged..

I am Shy..and weird..

Sunday, 15 July 2007
To my readers...

Although you see me as a "confident business woman" (borrowed from Ugly Betty), I am actually quite shy. Don't expect me to initiate conversation because I'm too shy.
I'm shy going to weddings alone. If I have to go alone, here's what I do. Greet the bride's or bridegroom's parent, then proceed to the buffet line and eat. When finished, go home. No..I do not talk to other people on the table. I don't know what to talk.
The other day on my flight back to Beijing, I sat with a fellow Malay and I never said a word to her during the entire 7 hours flight.
I am such a 'sombong' person. Truth is, I don't know how to lie. Lets face it, in order to initiate conversation you should start with the obvious question. But that's stupid!!! You know what it is already, why bother asking? It's a farce asking that kind of question.
That's why I need to ask intelligent question not questions that I already know the answers. The signs are obvious. People exhibit a certain degree of information that they don't realise, like where they came from, where they're heading and etc..(I'm sounding like a detective here...)
I can't really describe it. It's like I have this kind of extra senses that can sense people around me.
So other than asking a person where they're from (their hometown of course), what do they do for a living, I don't know any other questions to ask. I can glean so much information from that answers alone without them realising it.
I am extra sensitive to my surrounding. I can catch snippets of conversation and can piece it together to form an information. That's why sometimes I get to know secrets. So don't bother hiding it from me, I'll get to know anyway. Another thing..I AM ALWAYS AWARE WHEN MY THINGS ARE MOVED, EVEN FOR A MILLIMETER...SO BEWARE..I AM WATCHING..
No matter how messy are my things, I'll know for sure they are disturbed if it is moved.
So back to the story, I am shy and appears arrogant. Actually I'm not, but that depends on people...I guess I'm too intelligent..ahahahaha (you can praise yourself what...no one is doing it for you)

My Imagination for Today

Saturday, 14 July 2007
What am I imagining today?
I'm imagining that I'm the boss or a director in a company.
I'm imagining I'm sitting in my room, overlooking paperworks, looking my schedules for the day or weeks ahead and making phone calls.
I'm imagining that I am giving direction and orders to my staff and managers.
I'm imagining I'm running around in my car meeting clients and consultants..hehehehe..

What a day to start day dreaming..
Maybe it'll come true...
Insya'ALLAH..Amin.

psst...isn't that what I'm doing now ?? (yeah..!! minus the office of course..)

What Makes Me Happy

Things that makes me happy...

  1. Chocolate - I love chocolate so much.
  2. Books - I love books too.
  3. Friends - when they care about me and makes me laugh.
  4. Family - they are always there when I'm home.
  5. When I'm stress free..ahahahaha

Is it Normal?

Friday, 13 July 2007
Is it normal feeling that you don't want to be rich?
I feel that I don't have the motivation of living the rich lifestyle. Sure, I do need money. Surplus of my money will be kept in the bank. I will not know what or how to use it. In the end I'll surely end up lending it to others. Of course, sometimes I never get it back. I always help people, but when I'm in dire need nobody helps me and I'm too shy to ask for help. I don't care how much people owe me. It hurts my heart to think of it.
I'm living on a salary of 2124.25. I think that's enough for me. I don't want anymore money. I don't strive to have jobs with higher salary. I know that the more experience you are, the more you get. Well, I just don't care about that. Just by doing work itself makes me happy.
The non-existence desire to live rich does not mean that I don't have an eye on finer things. I do, but I will give advise to others. Living rich is not meant for me. I'm afraid of even touching it.
Am I normal?

A TRIP TO BEIJING

Assalamualaikum..

I’m back after a few weeks hiatus.
Missing..? Nah..just went to China couple of weeks back and also I’m too lazy to update my blog.
So this first entry of the month will tell you of my trip to China.
I went there for 5 days. 2 days for the flight to and from China-Kul and 3 days exploring Beijing. Well not really exploring, more of sightseeing.
Here’s the chronology of event.

DAY 1:
3.00 am – I just start packing my suitcase.

4.30 am – Asked my brother to send me to the airport and reach there at about 5.30 am in the morning. There I met with my tour leaded group Hasniza and checked in my luggage. I did my Subuh prayer while waiting for the rest of the group.

8.15 am – I checked in for boarding and by 9.00am I’m already in the plane (Airbus) to China. The plane took off at 10.00am. The only thing I like about riding in planes is during the take off. You feel the rush when the plane thrust forward to lift into the air. Other than that, it is quite boring.

3.00pm – after nearly 7 hours, I finally reached Beijing International Airport. The airport is quite small for an international one. I’m in the opinion that KLIA is still the better.

6.00pm – our tour leader in Beijing, Johnny, took us for dinner first. The dinner was in a Chinese Muslim restaurant. The dinner was good. Not so much different from our food. Only that ther use a lot of meat, capsicum and egg plant. Looking at the food, I know that it is easy to cook..heheheh..

7.00pm – it was already dark. On our way to the hotel, we pass through the Tiananmen Squre. I never thought that it was so huge. We also pass the picture of Mao Ze Dong hanged on the gates to the Fobidden City. There were lots and lots of people. Some playing kites, some just walking around and some are tourists. I guess the Chinese people like to walk about and ‘lepak’ outside and not in clubs or discos. Didn’t see one anyway.

8.00 pm – We reached our hotel, Bao Ding Centre. I was already quite exhausted and can’t wait to reach my room and fall asleep.Hey..I only had 3 hours sleep the day before.

9.00 pm – Yay!! Finally got into my room, well, not my room. I bord together with 2 friends. I had a quick shower and of to bed by 10.00 pm. Before that we set the alarm at 4.30 am. We were told that Subuh in Beijing is at that time. I had a fitful sleep with no dreams.

DAY 2:
4.30 am – I woke up to the sound of alarm for Subuh. Since we closed the curtain, we had no idea whether its dark or bright outside. What a shock I had when I opened the curtain, it was bright already at 4.30 am!!! Uh-oh..did this mean that I already missed my Subuh? Seems so too. I knew this would happened again after Hong Kong & Shenzhen..*sigh* had to ‘qadha’ my Subuh…

5.00 am – I’m fully awake and so are my 2 other friends. We had shower and by 7.00 am we were already down at the hotel lobby with the other group members. 7.00 am in Beijing is like 9.00 am here in Malaysia. We boarded our tour bus and heads towards the city centre to have our breakfast. Now, I don’t quite remember what we had for breakfast that day. I think it was bread, butter and jam. Also we had rice too. The Chinese sure love their rice.

9.00 am – our first tour of the day was the Tiannanmen Square and Forbidden City. The weather was a bit gray today. I think it’s going to rain. We start the tour at the end of the Tiannanmen Square and proceed slowly to the center of it. There sure are a lot of people. Even in the hazy weather.

10.00 am – we reached the outer gate of Forbidden City fronting the square. There a huge portrait of Mao Ze Dong hangs from the wall of the gate. According to Johnny, our tour guide, the eye of the portrait was painted by the artist in such a way that wherever you’re standing, the eyes seem to bore into you. This I find very true indeed.
By now I have entered the Forbidden City and true to what I read in History of Architecture it is a 3 layer city. The buildings were marvelous and were differentiated by usage according to the no. of animal carvings at the edge of the roof. After nearly walking 3 kilometers, I have reached the other end of the Forbidden City. It was quite exhausting. For photos, you can see my Fotopages.

2.00 pm – After lunch we were brought to Nujie Moque for prayer and then to a massage or medicinal parlour. There we were given a free dose of foot massage for about 45 minutes. While they’re at it a singseh with a translator gave them a pulse reading to inform them if they have any disease (I find it not true what they say..my friends says so too. I think the singseh are just saying it to persuade you to buy their traditional herbs. What’s wrong with Malaysian ones?) FYI I didn’t take up the free massage. I don’t know why, I think I just don’t like people touching my legs.

4.00 pm – We were brought to the Silk Centre. There the sales people explained to us on the making of silk from silk worm. They even show us how the silk comforter was made. I’ve seen this ploy in Shenzhen thus I’m not influenced by the sales people to buy anything. Besides, they sure are expensive!!

7.30 pm – For dinner, we had it at a Xinjiang restaurant. We were even entertained to a cultural show. The food was similar to the ones we had last night. Before we went back for the night, I manage to take a group photo with the front reception. She is so beautiful.

8.30 pm – Back to the hotel and ready for a good night sleep. My room mates went for a walk at the shopping mall near our hotel. Me? My legs cannot carry me anywhere anymore…Oooh yeh..everynight I enjoyed watching the Chinese TV. Even though I don’t understand the language, at least I understand the expression.

DAY 3:
4.00 am – woke up for Subuh prayer. There’s already twilight in the sky. Like it’s already 7 am in Malaysia. After that I went back to sleep for another 1 hour.

5.00 am – the wake up call or knocking came about this time. It was time to get ready for another day in Beijing.

9.00 am - After the usual breakfast we were brought to the Jade Centre. Here we were shown the types and quality of jades and how they are made into jewelries and house ornaments. Still I find the jades here are more expensive than in Shenzhen. I took some photos with mountain lions and ships made of jade.

3.00 pm – After lunch and prayer we brought to The Great Wall of China. This is the ultimate of my visit to China. I have been dreaming to climb the wall since I took up architecture. The Wall was so steep and you could see it spanning the range of the mountain. Johnny said that the beginning of the Wall is near Gobi Desert and the ending by the sea fronting Japan. The length is about 6000 km. We were climbing the middle portion. I’m afraid of heights and further more not fit enough, therefore I only manage to climb to the 1st tower. Most of us do anyway. So the climb was a slow one because the riser of the steps was as high as my calf. There are no landings in between and is quite steep. Although there are handrails on both sides of the wall, I still find it hard to look back. I’m afraid I will fall. You could die falling of these walls. Once I reach the 1st tower, I was already exhausted and lack oxygen in my brain. I had to take a deep and slow breath otherwise I’ll get a severe headache.

4.30 pm – I was finally down at the base of the Wall after agonizing steps climbing down (told you that I’m afraid of height). But hey, I manage to get a certificate near the 1st tower saying that I have climbed the Great Wall on this day (it costs me RM 20).

6.00 pm – We were then brought to a tea house to be introduced to the types of tea. We get to sample a few sips too. But still the tea are expensive compared to Shenzhen.

8.30 pm – Back at the hotel after dinner and am ready for sleep. My roommates are wandering outside again.

DAY 4:
7.00 am – after the usual Subuh and getting ready, I was down at the lobby. I bought some t-shirts from the vendors that have been pestering us since day one.

8.30 am – After breakfast we were shown the Olympic Stadium. Never did I imagine buildings that I only saw in book are now right in front of my eyes!!! It was awesome. The engineering fete achieved was to me quite extraordinary. Near the Olympic ground was a Ruby Centre own by a Malaysian. They are also a sponsor for the Olympic Games 2008. Here, the owner sold us the jewelries at material cost because he was so happy to see fellow countrymen visiting his store. Thus a necklace at RM 1000 can go down to RM 200. Who wouldn’t buy it..ME of course. I’m so not into jewelry. I never liked gold especially necklace. Before we left the owner also gave each of us a free jade pendant.

11.00 am – We are now at the Summer Palace. The weather today was quite good and bright. The Summer Palace is 100% man-made. It was so beautiful. The lake was quite huge and they rear pearl oysters in it. We walk around part of the lake and then took a boat ride across. The lake is only 1 meter deep so there was no need for a life jacket to be worn during the boat ride.

3.00 pm – After lunch we brought to the markets for some shopping. I wouldn’t call it a market though, more of a stalls in a shopping complex form. Here we did our last minute shopping buying souveniers for love ones back home. I spend all my money here..hehehehe..

9.00 pm – Back at the hotel after dinner for some serious packing. I came to China with one bag; I came home with 2 bags. Not so bad compared to my friend who came back with 3 bags.

10.00 pm – Of to sleep.

DAY 5:
5.00 am – The day I’ve been waiting for. I’m going back home!!!. Already we are all in the bus. Our flight is at 9 am. So we must reach the airport 2 hours ealier. It’s like 8 am in Malaysia during this time.

8.00 am – We are already at the airport and checking in our luggage.

9.00 am – I’m in the plane. I got a window seat and already starting to feel sleepy. I can’t stand it anymore and falls asleep. Although I like to watch when the planes takes of from the ground to the air, I have no energy to open my eyes anymore..

3.00 pm – After 7 hours flight I finally reach KLIA. Had my brother to fetch me at the airport.

Overall I had a nice day. Some people complained that they were duped because they were not brought the shopping area or market as suggested in the travel itinery. To me, traveling to a foreign place is not so much about shopping. Some of the things sold can be bought in Malaysia. They think that it is cheaper, they should buy it here. They should plus the airfare cost and think about it again. Traveling to a foreign place is about discovering the culture and way of life there. There is so much to see and smell.

Lets see..where am I going next..

Architectural Practice

  1. Describe the usual method of Specification preparation for a new building
  2. Explain the term ‘Bill of Approximate Quantities’
  3. Explain the main difference between a Lump Sum Contract and a Cost Reimbursement Contract
  4. Explain what is meant by the term ‘Tender Validity Period’
  5. What is understood by Dayworks under contract?
  6. Clearly explain the differences between Partial Handing Over and Sectional Completion as stipulated in the Contract.
  7. There are actions or non-actions of the Architect as the contract administrator that could lead to claims by the Contractor from the Employer for Loss and Expense and also for Extension of Time under the contract. Please elaborate as to what they are.
  8. Describe all the types of insurance that are required to be taken in a construction project under the Contract and who should be taking them. What are the roles of the Architect as far as building insurance are concerned.
  9. Explain why the Drawings and Specifications are two very important documents in a Contract without Quantities. Being important, how should they be prepared?
  10. What are the effects of Practical Completion under the Contract and describe the actions, which the Architects need to take at this stage.

These were test questions for architectural practice subject taught by Ar. Prof Hasan Mohamad, during my studies. Each question carries 10 marks. I manage to get 56/100, the highest mark in my class. One of my friends manages to get 53/100. Only the two of us pass the test. The rest, 33 of them failed. It’s a tough questions equivalent to LAM/PAM Part III exam

Hanya kepadaNya aku bertawakkal. " -Surah At-Taubah ayat 129

AKU DAH TAK DAPAT BERTAHAN LAGI!!!!! "
... ..dan jgnlah kamu berputus asa drp rahmat Allah. Sesungguhnya tiada berputus asa dari rahmat Allah melainkan kaum yg kafir." -Surah Yusuf ayat 12

A TRIBUTE TO MY FATHER

Thursday, 21 June 2007
Third Sunday in the month of June is tribute to fathers around the world. I’m dedicating this entry to my beloved father. His name is Mahmud. He’s a lecturer in UiTM Shah Alam, Electronic Engineering. My father is 51 years old this year.
My father is special to me and I am my father’s daughter (I’m his eldest child)
Growing up with my father had been fun and still is. My father encourages me and my siblings to ask questions, do things that we have never done, explore the world if we need to. He never limits his children. His love for us is not the form of worldly materials. His love for us is in the way he prepares his 10 broods for the future. My father has no ‘harta’ nor has he any ‘hutang’. His only property is us, and I can assure you that he has invested very well in us. His monthly payment amounting to thousands for our school education is finally bearing fruit. I am an architect now because of my father persuasion. My 2nd sister graduated in quantity surveying also on my father’s persuasion. My 3rd brother is doing his 5th year medical in Ireland. My 4th brother just graduated with computer engineering degree. My 5th brother is doing his mechanical engineering degree. My 6th brother is doing Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia in Ipoh. My father wish to see him further studies in Egypt. My 7th brother and 8th sister are doing their SPM this year. My 9th sister is doing her PMR also this year and lastly my 10th sister is in Form 2. Of course my mother also played her important role in our upbringing. Her dua’ and prayers never left us until today.
I like my father because he can answer any of my questions. It’s good, because it nurtures my thirst for knowledge. My father is the cook of the house. He can whip up anything from nothing. You can ask any recipes from him. My 2nd sister always does, because she’s a full time housewife. My father doesn’t like to go to KL because he doesn’t know the way, so it is up to me and my brother to show him the way. When it comes to our education, my father is the kind that will go the extra mile. I remember he bought a SLR camera worth RM 1600 just because I asked him to, for my course. He even bought computers for us. My father never went to any of my convocation and my sister’s too. But deep down inside I know that he is proud of our achievement. When he is angry we usually keep out of his way because his anger can last for one day.
I would like to thank my father for driving me back and forth from home to university during my studies, fetching me at the commuter station every night when I used to work in Subang, ‘belanja’ daily necessities and buying my model making supplies (banyak pakai duit tu..)
My father loves fishing very much. He sometimes brings back a cooler box filled with fish. Of course my mother will complain who’s going to finish all this fish. In the end it was thrown away…but hey!! I love the fresh water fish he always caught. Yummy when it is ‘bakar’ in the oven. I know about fish, fruits, type of trees and cars from my father.
I never talk personal stuff with my father but I love him very much. To my father..I LOVE YOU..and mom too (I’ll do a tribute to you later..)

3G

Thursday, 14 June 2007
The national newspaper has been running the 3G issue for 2 days straight now. 3G stands for "Gebu, Gemuk, Gempal" (not the telco 3G..)
Even radio talkshows on radio have been highlighting this issue and of course the callers are mostly 3G women. According to them, their men friend usually asks them ore demand them to slim down and lose weight.
To me its a matter of principle. You do not or must lose weight just because someone ask to. You do it because you want to. Of course the plus point is you'll be more healthy and fit. Mind you, not all slim people appears healthy. Ever heard of 'cholestrol'?..ehehehe..

TV Categories

Here's an outlook on how I categorize the public TV channels in Malaysia.
  • TV 1 = formal and represent the Government
  • TV 2 = fuzzy and mysterious
  • TV 3 = entertaining but boring on certain days
  • NTV 7 = tabloid and exciting
  • 8TV = all Chinese
  • TV 9 = Malay, retro and Islamic

OK..so I admit, this is just my opinion and observation. I seldom watch TV actually. TV programmes that I normally watch are:

  • MONDAY - CSI: New York, CSI: Miami, CSI: Vegas (NTV 7) and NCIS which will soon be replaced by Criminal Mind (8TV)
  • TUESDAY - Ugly Betty (8TV)
  • THURSDAY - Susuk (TV3)
  • SUNDAY - Top Gear (NTV 7)

See..I don't watch TV all the time..hmm..I wonder what did I do all night and weekend?...

First Attempt..again

Saturday, 9 June 2007
Yayy!!! Finally managed to upload the correct image.

My First Artwork

Assalamualaikum

Hmm..I'm not sure why the image turn up this way. It should be a dark red rose actually. Maybe my computer memory is running low. That's why the image turn up this way. Even my fotopages is not showing anything.
Anyhow, this is my first attempt at designing a contemporary wedding cards. This one is postcard type. The front of the postcard will say WEDDING INVITATION plus the any other important information. The plan to the wedding place will be sticked at the back. Then you can just add the recipient's address and a 20 cent stamp and walla!!, you are ready to post it.
No wastage of needing an envelope. For more info you can contact me. I can also give advice on the colour theme and also your own personal wedding card designs.

My Work Desktop

Thursday, 7 June 2007

Assalamualaikum...

Just another bored entry for today. My computer desktop at work. My lifetime dream car which I never will own anyway. It cost RM 7 million. The name is BUGATTI VEYRON and its currently the fastest, most powerful, and most expensive street-legal full production car in the world, with a proven top speed of 253 mph (407.5 km/h), though several faster or more expensive vehicles have been produced on a limited basis.

The car is built by Volkswagen AG subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS in its Molsheim (Alsace, France) factory and is sold under the legendary Italian/French Bugatti marque. It is named after French racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti firm.

Everything Is About Choices

Wednesday, 6 June 2007
Assalamualaikum...

Everything is about choices.
You can choose to be in a bad mood the minute you come into the office or,
you can choose to smile the minute you wake up.

You can choose to throw tantrum when the printers won't print your documents or,
you can choose to shut down the computer and printer and start over again.

You can choose to eat rice for lunch or,
you can choose to eat bread.

You can choose to wear expensive and unpractical clothing or,
you can choose to wear inexpensive and practical clothing.

You can choose post-paid lines for your mobile phones or,
you can choose pre-paid lines.

Either way or what you choose it does effect on how you spend money and budget your finance.
Even better if everything you do or decide there is a free alternative to it. That way you can save money.

What I am saying is that nowadays, everything involves money; even going to the public toilets.

AND I CHOOSE TO BE A MILLIONAIRE BEFORE I RETIRE!!!
(Is it impossible? I think not...)

Murah Rezeki

Tuesday, 5 June 2007
Assalamualaikum...

Back again dengan tajuk murah rezeki.
Ada orang murah rezeki dengan bertambah duitnye..
Aku ni murah rezeki cara lain pulak..hehehe..duit aku takde la banyak mana..
Tapi aku memang murah rezeki..
Contohnya;
Kalau nak tawar-menawar aku suruh orang lain..
Dulu dapat beli laptop dengan cash, melancong sana-sini (Singapore, Bangkok & Hong Kong)..masa student lagi tu, belum lagi keje.
Entah la..mungkin Allah dah kurniakan rezeki aku cara macam tu..
La ni ada rezeki lagi, insya'Allah akan ke Beijing hujung bulan ni..
Amiin..moga murah rezeki aku lagi..heheheh
(Walaupun sebenarnya aku tak punya kereta sendiri, tak punya rumah sendiri, line handphone pun pre-paid je..)

My Company - My Dream

Tuesday, 22 May 2007
Assalamualaikum...

The steps to setting up my company (well, nearly anyway..not yet set up)
  1. Collect design sample from the internet (wedding cards, greeting cards, business cards, pamphlets, paper bags, etc) - DONE
  2. Register with printing supplier - DONE (cost me about RM 100 + RM whatever is needed for printing purposes)
  3. Buying design and colour layout and coordination books - DONE
  4. Registering my company with the SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) as an ENTERPRISE - NOT DONE (no money yet to fork out the RM300 needed for Daftar Niaga to do the work for me. Hopefully no one will rob me of the company name that I have in mind).
  5. Setting up website as part of promotion for my upcoming business and also as an online business - NOT DONE (due to no-design of all templates...hehehe..will do if I have the time)

So..If I have a company specialising in paper printing, will you be my customer? :P

I'm Stressed !!!

Thursday, 17 May 2007
Assalamualaikum...

Back again...
I'm busy right now. Still in the office doing building submission drawings.
I've noticed that I'm stressed out lately. The signs are:

1. Cannot sleep even though I'm so tired. My eyes are shut but my brain refuse to relax. As a result it's been 4 days that I slept at 2 am and wake up at 6.30am. Go to work at 8.30am and go back home at 10.30pm.
2. Feeling faint all the time.
3. No mood to eat.

Sigh...when is this work going to be over.
Need to have a long holiday after this...

TMD @ My Splint

Wednesday, 9 May 2007
Assalamualaikum..

After 1 month going back and forth to the hospital (HTAR) the doctor made a splint for me to be worn 24 hours except when eating. This is how it look like. I have to wear it because I think I'm grinding my teeth when I'm sleeping partly due to stress during the day. That's why my jaw feels sore every morning. The doctor advised me to eat soft food for the time being, but being me, I sometimes forgot the doctor's advice!!
Anyhow, wearing this splint makes me hungry all day. It's because I can't chew or eat anytime I please because it's too cumbersome to take the splint on and off.

The doctor gave me a pamphlet on Temporomandibular Joint Pain Dysfunction Syndrome. It says:

You have been told that you have Temporomandibular Joint Pain Dysfunction Syndrome. This is a big name for a simple condition which is the second most common cause of pain in the face. (Toothache is the commonest cause.)

The condition is best describe as a sprain of the jaw joint and the muscles around them. As the jaw joint (also known as the temporomandibular joint) is just in front of the ear, pain may be felt there and may seem like earache. The muscles around the joint cover the sides of the head and jaws, so a sprain may cause headache, neck pain or what feels like a toothache.

The jaw joint has a cartilage inside it as does the knee joint. When the cartilage gets into the wrong place in the joint because of the sprain, it may begin to click when the jaw is moved. This a bit like cartilage trouble that affects the knees of athletes. Stiffness as well as clicking may be produced so that your mouth may not open as far as usual. The jaw may even become stuck in one position for short periods.

You may have noticed that your symptoms began after your face or jaw was hurt, perhaps by a knock. More often TMJPDS starts when stress or tiredness leads to clenching of the jaws or grinding of teeth which over-strain the jaws. Many people clench their jaws without being aware of it and grinding of teeth is often done whilst asleep. For this reason symptoms of TMJPDS are often worse in the morning. As there is a link with stress the condition often occurs following the death of a loved one, illness, losing a job, or any difficult time. Surprisingly even happy events like getting married or having a baby may bring on TMJPDS>

Two out ten people have TMJPDS before the age of thirty. Three quarters of cases get better within three month of noticing the symptoms, even without treatment the symptoms of TMJPDS, like those of a sprain of any joint, will show early improvement. Resting the joint by eating only soft foods, avoiding wide opening of the mouth and special exercises will help. If problems are slow to go away, a splint or physiotherapy may be used. Painkillers in the form of tablets, and sometimes sprays or creams, may be prescribed to ease symptoms until the muslce spasm starts to resolve.

Very occasionally TMJPDS is not completely controlled by simple means. Remember the condition is very common and almost all patients will recover with time.

TMD @ TMJ Disorder

Thursday, 26 April 2007
Assalamualaikum...

Back again after month of absence. I'm writing because I'm getting bored doing drawings...other than typing the minutes of meeting.
Anyway I was on MC 2 weeks ago for about 1 week for TMD Disorder. In case you don't know, just click on the title above. It'll lead you to the related website.
The dental Dr. told me that this disorder might be due to stress since I'm working in the construction industry. The 1 week break was like Allah giving me a time to rest. But still the disorder has not gone away completely. I've been on medication for 3 weeks now.
Next Friday 4.May.2007, I have an appointment with the Dr. at Jabatan Bedah Mulut, HTAR.
I don't know what they'll do next. Maybe put a brace? hehehe...
How I long to eat properly..I can't each much and I can't eat hard food because my jaws HURT SO MUCH!!!!

I've Been Tagged

Tuesday, 20 March 2007
Assalamualaikum..

Waah!! Didn't know I've been tagged. Heheheh..Raiyan tagged me. The rules are simple:
Rules & Regulations: Each player of this game starts out by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. After you do that, leave them each a comment letting them know you tagged them and to read your blog!

6 Weird Things About Me

I don't really know if I have 6 weird things or behaviour for that matter. It may appear weird to others but certainly not to me..because that's what makes you special than others.
  1. I like to look at people's shoes. When I look at them, I know when a shoes appear to suit the person and what he or she is wearing. I can spend time looking for the perfect shoes. Mind you I don't own a lot, only 3 at the moment. That's because I want to prolong the shelf life of my shoes. I'm a hard walker and my shoes tend to disintegrate after 3 months. With 3 shoes, they can last up to a year. A pair of shoes that people wear can tell me what type of person he or she is. So you guys beware...hehehehe
  2. I love Kuew Tiow Goreng - not Char Kuew Tiow..I don't like that. I only like the one cooked by Kelantanese or Thai people. Seldom see it in Malay or Mamak resturant. It's my favorite food!!! Luckily there's a lot of restaurant selling this type of Kuew Tiow Goreng near my house..
  3. Let see...what's next..ooh yes. I love washing dishes. It calm's the mind you know. And I can imagine a lot of thing and work out a lot of things too. Normally I always imagine I'm scolding someone I don't like. Hehehehe....It's like I'm talking to myself actually but does not appear 'crazy' to others because my hands are washing the dishes.
  4. I appears stingy but actually generous in a way.Hmm..what am I saying? Well I don't appear to like treating (belanja makan) people but I like people treating me. So once in a while at the spur of the moment when I treat people it usually amount to over RM 100. They had a shock of their life.
  5. I like to collect note books. I still have my first note book that I bought with my own money when I was Form 4. I still cherish it because I remembered longing for it such a long time and even though it just cost's RM 7.00, it has sentimental value to me.
  6. Finally the last thing weird about me is..I can change my mind at a flip of a switch and at my instinct. You may not know it but I'm trying to sharpen my instinct. A lot of time my instinct are proven right. That what's they say about the Counselor.
I guess that's about it..hmm..who am I going to tag, let see:
  1. Miwqa
  2. Rawasih
  3. I don't know
  4. I don't know
  5. I don't know
  6. I don't know
There you have it..I don't know because I'm not an active participant in the blogsphere.
Ok dokey..bye..Salam to all..

The Counselor Idealist

Friday, 2 March 2007
I have always wondered why everyone never understood me completely. I know that I'm a complex person with a confusing personality. Now I know why. And I hope with this explaination you will not be confused about me anymore.

The Counselor Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in reaching their goals, and enterprising and attentive in their interpersonal roles. Counselors focus on human potentials, think in terms of ethical values, and come easily to decisions. The small number of this type (little more than 2 percent) is regrettable, since Counselors have an unusually strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others and genuinely enjoy helping their companions. Although Counsleors tend to be private, sensitive people, and are not generally visible leaders, they nevertheless work quite intensely with those close to them, quietly exerting their influence behind the scenes with their families, friends, and colleagues. This type has great depth of personality; they are themselves complicated, and can understand and deal with complex issues and people.
Counselors can be hard to get to know. They have an unusually rich inner life, but they are reserved and tend not to share their reactions except with those they trust. With their loved ones, certainly, Counselors are not reluctant to express their feelings, their face lighting up with the positive emotions, but darkening like a thunderhead with the negative. Indeed, because of their strong ability to take into themselves the feelings of others, Counselors can be hurt rather easily by those around them, which, perhaps, is one reason why they tend to be private people, mutely withdrawing from human contact. At the same time, friends who have known a Counselor for years may find sides emerging which come as a surprise. Not that they are inconsistent; Counselors value their integrity a great deal, but they have intricately woven, mysterious personalities which sometimes puzzle even them. Counselors have strong empathic abilities and can become aware of another's emotions or intentions -- good or evil -- even before that person is conscious of them. This "mind-reading" can take the form of feeling the hidden distress or illnesses of others to an extent which is difficult for other types to comprehend. Even Counselors can seldom tell how they came to penetrate others' feelings so keenly. Furthermore, the Counselor is most likely of all the types to demonstrate an ability to understand psychic phenomena and to have visions of human events, past, present, or future. What is known as ESP may well be exceptional intuitive ability-in both its forms, projection and introjection. Such supernormal intuition is found frequently in the Counselor, and can extend to people, things, and often events, taking the form of visions, episodes of foreknowledge, premonitions, auditory and visual images of things to come, as well as uncanny communications with certain individuals at a distance.
Mohandas Gandhi and Eleanor Roosevelt are examples of the Counselor Idealist (INFJ).

Like A Princess

Friday, 23 February 2007
Like a princess..
That's what I think..
  1. I have drivers who drives me around town..
  2. I have cooks who cook for me 24 hours..
  3. I have parlour maids who attends to my whims and fancies..

Well it's not me alone who have them..you have them too..
Don't believe me?
Well, i'm talking about
  1. Bus & taxi drivers and commuter trains who will take you anywhere for a fee. All you need to do is relax and let them do the driving. You can sleep, eat, drink or even read a paper.
  2. I sometimes eat out, so the cook at these places can be considered my cook right? I only have to pay some amount of money and walla...!!! Here comes the food. And isn't there a lot of 24 hours Mamak Stall? There you go..you can eat even at 3 am in the morning and still you don't have to cook. Someone else will.
  3. Sales assistant, hairdresser and the ladies working is spas...they attend to my wants and needs..yours too at a price of course...

So there you go, it isn't just me...you too have maids, cooks and drivers.

Air Conditioning

Monday, 22 January 2007
Assalamualaikum...

After few weeks of absence, I'm back again...
And after 6 agonizing days without airconditioning in my office, it's finally back in operation this evening. OO..you just can't imagine working in office design for air-condition environment and suddenly the air-cond just broke down. The air was hot and we were basically breathing the same air for the past 6 days. Office designed for fully air-conditioned environment usually does not emphasis on air exchange. Therefore there were less opening that allows air going in and out of the office. We had to bring in table fans to cool the office. It was so hot and humid that at one point I had a piercing headache and felt nauseus. Fortunately, it wasn't only us suffering from it. The whole office tower did...Ahahahaha...
Alhamdulillah..from tomorrow onwards I can relish in the coldness of the air-cond till it 'breakdown' again. Cross my finger and pray to Allah it'll last longer...(The office tower management informed us that repair works will take up 7 days starting last Wednesday)..
But the air-cond was fully operational starting today, Monday 22 Jan 2007
