Failed Chocolate
Bermula jam 4 petang operasi bermula dengan men'temper'kan coklat Dark chocolate couverture. Test 5 minit, jadi OK. Sebelum tu buat inti ganache white chocolate + strawberry filling. Kemudian coklat dimasukkan kedalam peti ais.
3 jam kemudian saya cuba keluarkan coklat dari mould, tak nak keluar pulak!! Adoi..macam mana nak buat ni?
Takpe, biarkan dulu. Saya cuba pula buat milk chocolate. Bila test selepas seeding, fail. Tambah coklat lagi, bila test fail lagi dan test seterusnya fail juga (entah berapa kali buat tak tahulah). Dah naik sakit kepala dah ni pasal dekat 1 jam 1/2 duk test coklat tu cukup tak tempering nya.
Mama Zieza kata jangan give up buat coklat ni. Nak buat segala bentuk kek tu saya tak reti. Takpun bagi org je pasal sebenarnya dah nak termuntah tengok banyak sangat coklat tu (650gm tu!) Kesimpulannya saya memang fail kalau tiba bab memasak ni. Selalunya 1st round je menjadi. 2nd round, 3rd round selalu fail. Macam kes buat chocolate cheese cupcake tu laa...
Sapa nak makan, makan laa..eden tak larat nak tengok!!!
My Studies
I'm now in the midst of semester break of my Master program. Enrollment for the 3rd semester will commence in December 2009. Oh, how time flies.
What I've learned so far has been illuminating. But there are a few issues that I know I can do better especially in my assignments and time management.
Studying while working has it's advantages & disadvantages. The advantages are that you are tuned to the real situation and can relate to your studies (what the theories are talking about) and you can have a lot of 'excuses' for not being able to attend class or submit assignments on time. The disadvantages is that you don't have much time to do your assignments and certainly will be late to class. After work, I'm so tired to even read journals to do literature review for my assignments. I like to sleep and I can't stay up anymore as I used to during my degree days (I am getting older aren't I?) Sometimes, I have to do my assignments during working time. But that seldom happens. Only in emergency cases. I do feel bad about it anyway. Feels like my salary will not be 'berkat' for doing it.
Reading academic materials are really, really difficult for me. I tend to lose concentration 5 minutes into reading. More than 5 minutes, what I read won't register in my head. As a result I have to re-read the whole paragraph starting from the point that I lose 'consciousness'. Sadly enough my enthusiasm are not shared by my classmates. Most of them are more into copy and paste when doing assignments. I abhorred that! Why? Because you won't understand what you are doing and what the assignment wants. Plus, I enjoy torturing myself academically. Come to think of it, it's fun actually being able to be so knowledgeable :D At one point I did break down because I didn't know how to do Literature Review until one kind friend forwarded me an article how to do it. Thank you very much.
There was this assignment during my 1st semester which is about Knowledge Creation where the lecturer require us to do literature review, do questionnaire and obtain 30 samples and submit it 1 week after exam. I was really stuck at that point because honestly I don't know how! The assignment were like a mini thesis of you ask me. I mean, I wasn't taught how to formulate questionnaire, how to do the analysis of data, how to do literature review, etc. Talk about culture shock. But somehow I manage to do it after reading about 1 ream thick of articles. And I got A for that.
Time management in managing my studies is where I'm weak at. When I receive my assignment in the first place, I usually collect all the articles & journals first but did not read it until the submission due date is near. Then that's where I usually falls asleep and my mind wander elsewhere when reading the articles. Poor judgment! I need to change my habit for next semester and probably prepare a Gantt Chart to chart my progress in my studies.
Data collection however has been a strong point for me. For every subject studied, I normally have 1 thick file of related articles. I seem to know how to search for information on the web and found lots of journals and e-books. My classmate can't get a grasp how I search for info when I explained to them my method (I can't either & I don't know how I did it) which will end up by me giving them copies of all the articles that I have. I have no qualms about it anyway. We have to help each other because I may be good in data collecting but they are good in information formation in the bigger perspective. After all some of them have work longer than I am. Discussion is a good platform because I like to explain to people what I understand so that I'll understand better. That's what I normally do during exam week.
Now I've finished all my exam for this paper. Next semester there will be no more exams. It'll be more on presentations and assignments which I hear is very, very tough and demanding.
A recap of subjects that I have learned so far for the past 2 semester:
- Facilities Management Framework
- Human Resource Management & Organisational Behaviour
- Information & Communication Technology
- Financial & Value Management
- Strategic & Risk Management
- Facilities Planning & Management of Building Fabric.
To my officemate, congratulations for finally having your ViVa on your Master research thesis. And thank you for submitting my overdue assignment yesterday to UiTM (Thankfully we are from the same faculty). May you obtain your 'Sarjana' soon enough. Love u sis for helping at work and studies.
Akhirnya pembelaan diperoleh jua
5 tahun masa menunggu. Ku kira umurnya pasti sudah 32 tahun. Pasti punya impian besar-besar.
Alhamdulillah, keadilan diperoleh. Walau aku jarang ambik tahu. Tetapi membaca khabar hari ini, aku rasa syukur. Pasti ibu bapa dia pun sebegitu. Tetapi ia tidak akan membawa dia kembali.
Pemergiannya kekal.
Pembunuh Norzi akhirnya ke tali gantung

SHAH ALAM - Selepas lima tahun berlalu, Mahkamah Tinggi di sini semalam menjatuhkan hukuman gantung sampai mati ke atas Irawadi Mohamad (gambar) selepas didapati bersalah membunuh kekasihnya, Norzi Ayu Md. Noor, 27 tahun.
Am I Tolerant Enough?
Am I a tolerable person? Maybe I am. Too much I guess.
I tolerate people at work, home & everywhere. I seldom get angry nowadays. But there will be those few occasions where I do feel so tense. Like last night for example.
My housemate asked me to accompany her to collect her car which is being re-painted in Damansara. She knew that I had an assignment to be submitted today but she still insist on me going just because she's afraid that her boyfriend will disapprove of her going alone. The journey from Tanjung Malim to Damansara is about 1 hour. Going back will take another hour. Dealing with the guy who painted her car will take about 30 minutes. We went there around 9pm and got back around 12.15am.
Did I do my assignment? NO! And can she re-pay me by helping me out? NO! And does she care? NO!
So there, I'm a bit fed-up with her for now.
Reminiscence of the days gone by
Expensive Hobbies
My hobbies & likes are expensive.
- Sewing beads to clothes (RM4.50 / small packet of Japanese glass beads. One 'baju kurung' requires approximately 10 packets depending on design & patterns)
- Photography (I just bought RM3150 Nikon D90 body only)
- Chocolate making (emm..I guess it does amount to more than RM100 in buying the ingredients)
- Books (I aim to spend at least RM100/month on books)
Friends...& Foods
Gambar-gambar yg sempat aku ambik - Faizah, Najah, aku dan makanan. Mentang-mentang ada kamera sekarang ni aku syok ambik gambar jek.
My Office & Books
Chocolate Made by ME
Ahad semalam, aku ikut Najah pegi belajar buat coklat kat Teras Jernang, Bangi di rumah Kak Rahimah (Mas Des Fontaine). Kelas kami bermula 9.30pg sampai 4.30 petang.
Gambar-gambar kat bawah ni hasil kerja coklat ku.
Gempa
Semalam petang aku ada kelas Financial Management. Tengah khusyuk dengar lecturer bagi lecture kat depan, aku terasa kerusi ku bergoyang-goyang. Aku ingatkan orang belakang duk goyang-goyang kakinya kena kerusi aku. Aku nak tanya, karang rasa aku yang pening sebenarnya sebab semalam memang puasa pun.
Duk dalam keadaan bergoyang tu, aku dah syak ni mesti gempa kat Indonesia. Sebab masa tsunami 2004 tu, rumah aku kat Klang memang terasa kuat juga la sampai pintu, kerusi, railing tangga semua bergoyang. Masa tu aku pening gak, rasa macam nak muntah.
Eid Mubarak
Maaf ye!)
Sebetulnya siang tadi aku jual cincin tunang dulu tu.
Yeah! itu lah dia kuasa Kak Long! Hahaha..semua adik beradik kena dengar cakap.
Akak dah bank-in siang tadi.
p/s: Hasif, nanti akak bg duit kat mama minta belikan ye? Akak tak sempat la nak belikan sebab esok pagi dah balik TM. Sana takde pilihan sangat.
Yeay! I finally got them
I'm very excited this afternoon because books that I've bought 5 months ago from MPH Online have finally arrived. The books are
1. Dan Brown - The Lost Symbol

Book DescriptionAnd I got it today 15 September 2009! Yeay! I waited 5 months because I pre-ordered the book when it wasn't even published yet. I got this book at RM70.00 (it's a hard-cover book)
Dan Brown’s new novel, the eagerly awaited follow-up to his #1 international phenomenon, The Da Vinci Code, which was the bestselling hardcover adult novel of all time, will be published on September 15, 2009.The Lost Symbol will once again feature Dan Brown’s unforgettable protagonist, Robert Langdon.
The Lost Symbol is a brilliant and compelling thriller. Dan Brown’s prodigious talent for storytelling, infused with history, codes and intrigue, is on full display in this new book. This is one of the most anticipated publications in recent history, and it was well worth the wait,” said Sonny Mehta, Chairman and Editor in Chief of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group. Brown’s longtime editor, Jason Kaufman, Vice President and Executive Editor at Doubleday said, “Nothing ever is as it first appears in a Dan Brown novel. This book’s narrative takes place in a twelve-hour period, and from the first page, Dan’s readers will feel the thrill of discovery as they follow Robert Langdon through a masterful and unexpected new landscape. The Lost Symbol is full of surprises.”
"This novel has been a strange and wonderful journey," said Brown. "Weaving five years of research into the story's twelve-hour timeframe was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon’s life clearly moves a lot faster than mine."
and..
2. Mary Clark Higgins - Just Take My Heart
I had to wait 5 months due to Dan Brown's book was in the same parcel. I didn't want to waste RM7 just for MPH to post this book first.
Book Description:
Natalie Raines, one of Broadway's brightest stars, accidentally discovers who killed her former roommate and sets in motion a series of shocking events that puts more than one life in extreme peril.
While Natalie and her roommate, Jamie Evans, were both struggling young actresses, Jamie had been involved with a mysterious married man to whom she referred only by nickname. Natalie comes face to face with him years later and inadvertently addresses him by the nickname Jamie had used. A few days later, Natalie is found in her home in Closter, New Jersey, dying from a gunshot wound.
Immediately the police suspect Natalie's theatrical agent and soon-to-be-ex-husband, Gregg Aldrich. He had long been a "person of interest" and was known to have stalked Natalie to find out if she was seeing another man. But no charges are brought against him until two years later, when Jimmy Easton, a career criminal, suddenly comes forward to claim that Aldrich had tried to hire him to kill his wife. Easton knows details about the Aldrich home that only someone who had been there -- to plan a murder, for instance -- could possibly know.
The case is a plum assignment for Emily Wallace, an attractive thirty-two-year-old assistant prosecutor. As she spends increasingly long hours preparing for the trial, a seemingly well-meaning neighbor offers to take care of her dog in her absence. Unaware of his violent past, she gives him a key to her home...
As Aldrich's trial is making headlines, her boss warns Emily that this high-profile case will reveal personal matters about her, such as the fact that she had a heart transplant. And, during the trial, Emily experiences sentiments that defy all reason and continue after Gregg Aldrich's fate is decided by the jury.
In the meantime, she does not realize that her own life is now at risk.
Persiapan menjelang Raya
Seminggu akhir ni saya masih bekerja. Hari Sabtu baru mula cuti. Alhamdulillah dapat cuti seminggu sebelum kembali bertugas.
Persiapan Raya? Lama dah ada baju. Pakai je yg ada. Orang tak pernak nampak kita pakai baju tu akan ingat tu baju raya la.. :D
Ingat nak beli sedondon warna purple semua..cewah..macam boria kata kawan saya. Tapi bila masa nak beli ni? Balik Shah Alam petang ni terus ada kelas sampai 11 malam. Esok mungkin boleh sebab kelas esok sampai 8.30malam.
Hari-hari lain tak sempat sebab di Tanjung Malim ni 'limited choices'.
Haidar bagi no. akaun HSBC kat akak. Esok akak boleh bank-in kan. Husna dah dapat kan hari tu.
Tahun ni takde bonus. Tapi gaji dah masuk dah. Tapi kena berhati-hati belanja sebab tu merangkumi belanja bulan depan juga tu. Kalau tak beringat, memang mencari nahas!
Help Me!! (with my assignment)
I'm writing this on the verge of crying. I need help with my assignment which I find difficult to do. I have to do a review on an article. I honestly don't know how (which is why I don't do book review).
Can someone please give me a guide on how to do a review?

My Laptop is KO-ed!
My laptop is KO-ed and I feel like 'patah kaki' & 'patah otak'!!!
Adoi..what am I to do. All my files are in there - all my coursework files. My office work is safe and sound in an external hardisk.
My laptop cannot be switched on at all! So I've asked my friend to send it to a service centre for repair. So I don't know when I'll get it back. :(
p/s: I'm updating from a computer in the office.
A Bookish Household
I found this interesting article by Abby Wong in The Sunday Star, 23/08/09.
REMEMBER that bookworm I was enamoured of because he was reading in public? The one I wrote about in Read, men! (Book Nook, April 19)? Well, I am happy to share with you, dear reader, that bookish fate not only brought us together again but that we then chatted, dated, and are now husband and wife, living with two young children who are showing early signs of bookishness.
Those who don’t love books might think my life with a bookworm would be boring. On the contrary. Though not as intense a reader as he was when I first laid eyes on him, Mr Bookworm still reads – and still isn’t satisfied with merely reading about things and places. He has to also see it, smell it, feel it, use it, observe it or even live it. And that, dear readers, certainly makes for an interesting life!
Once, a few years ago, mesmerised by the crowded and filthy Bombay (now Mumbai) that he read about in Suketu Mehta’s Maximum City: Bombay Lost and Found, Mr Bookworm booked a flight to Bombay for the two of us – his curiosity about the city described in those pages would not let him rest until he had been there.
So, with book in bag and camera in hand, we were soon standing on top of a hill overseeing the Indian city’s slums. Quietly observing, he paid little attention to the pungent smell that emanated from the garbage all around us, and was absolutely saddened by the filth the people had to live in.
Starring at his face, I knew then my life would never be boring with Mr Bookworm because, together, we would learn and experience the world through reading and travelling.
It was our love for books that brought us together, and it is this love that has helped us build a beautiful home for our two young children. Not that our home is neat and tidy because books often lie around everywhere for various reasons.
Sitting in the garage these days is my copy of The Forever War by Dexter Filkins that I read whenever I am in there watching over my daughter as she plays. Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle – an old book from 1998 that I’m only reading now for some unfathomable reason – sits on our kitchen table amidst the clutter, ready for me to enjoy when I have my afternoon coffee and cookies.
Randy Charles Epping’s interesting The 21st Century Economy is on the bedside table, weekly magazines are scattered in the bathroom, readily allowing us to catch up on worldly affairs during our own private moments.
But in the early days, Mr Bookworm would stare at me from the corners of his eyes and frown at the books I’d leave scattered everywhere at first, silently protesting my habit of cluttering up the house. It was not until a few years ago when we ran out of space on our bookshelves did he join me in my way of living.
One day, to my pleasant surprise, Mr Bookworm placed bookends on some of the window sills in the house. “In this crazy world of hassling and bustling, a row of books in a window next to a potted fern can be highly effective in paring down our overly heightened senses,” Mr Bookworm pronounced. I could not agree more.
And so, even our windows became cluttered with books. Though some of the potted ferns have disappeared, our home remains obstinately full of bookish charm. I think so, anyway.
Perhaps I feel this way because I did not grow up in a book-cluttered house. Neither Mr Shakespeare nor Mr Orwell nor other great literary names were housemates then. My obsession with books did not start until I was in my teens, when my habit of spying people reading officially became a fetish at my first workplace, a bookstore.
What I did not experience in my childhood I do not want my children to miss. The best way, we figure, to make books their best friends is by creating a home in which books get in their way, in which books are often pronounced lost but later found in the most unexpected of places, in which books are like spices, bread, pencils, utensils, plants, constantly reminding our children of their importance – as well as unimportance in that they are an ordinary, not-to-be-remarked-upon part of life.
As my six-year-old son begins to take his first tiny steps into the magical world of Harry Potter, Mr Bookworm is scouting for a bigger house to make room for a bigger nook to accommodate the growing number of books and bookworms. “The ferns have to be outside this time,” he says, “but the bonsai stays in.”
What can I say? Bonsai has become his new engrossment thanks to a copy of Bonsai Basics he recently borrowed from the local library. As with Mumbai, he has to see it, smell it, feel it, use it, observe it, and live with it. My kind of guy.
■ Abby Wong has this advice for single young women: men who read are not only attractive but also make great husbands.
1st Day of Ramadhan
1st day of Ramadhan was full of challenges for me in terms of health. The night after Tarawih prayers I started feeling nauseas. And true enough I started vomiting the whole night & having diarrhea until the next day. I couldn't even sleep properly. I woke up every 1 to 2 hours to rush to the toilet. My housemate were all sleeping soundly so I was glad I didn't disturb their sleep.
During sahur I couldn't even eat anything as I was afraid I would throw up after that. I manage to eat 2 kurma & half a glass of warm water. I was supposed to go back to Shah Alam that morning as my Masters group is having discussion for our assignments. But I was so weak from all that vomitting & diarrhea that I couldn't even stand up. After Sahur I even performed the Solat Sunat Hajat asking God to grant me the strength to fast for the day.
While my housemates all went to work I stayed at home sleeping most of the day. And I started having fever too. But I really wanted to go home as I feel that I'll get better in a familiar surrounding with my family (guess I miss my mom so much).
At 6pm I departed from Tanjung Malim to Shah Alam with my housemate. I wanted her to drive my car but I guess I'm the kind of person who don't want to bother people too much, so I drove myself, even though at that time I was having fever.
We reach her housemate house in Shah Alam just in time to break fast. I could only eat kurma & little pieces of murtabak & drank a glass of orange juice. My mother SMS'ed me asking whether I was coming home & was I having fever as my family was going to my grandmother's house. I told I was, and my mother replied that she will ask someone to come home and accompany me.
I went home after break fast at my friend's house and after performing the Maghrib prayer I slept the whole night. My mother SMS'ed me that night that no one could come home to accompany me and asked me to take care of myself. I was ok with that.
Sahur this morning was also difficult for me. My mother left some spaghetti for me the night before. I was hungry and tried to eat more but all I could swallow was a spoonful and no more. After Subuh I again slept until afternoon so that my fever will subside. But I do get that nauseas feeling until now.
All in all it reminded me that whatever we plan Allah decided.
Ramadhan Kareem
Ramadhan Kareem buat semua pembaca. Tak pun masak sendiri kalau diaorg tak bangun sahur.
Apa-apa pun rasa tak sabar nak Solat Sunat Tarawih malam ni, di tempat baru pula tu.
p/S: Niat puasa semua malam ni ye :D
Why I Wear Boots
I have worn ankle length boots since 2002. I love boots because it protects my ankle from breaking (since I love to wear high heels) if I trip. Furthermore it protects the whole feet & socks from dust.
I have since then owned 7 pairs. I always buy new ones when the old ones cannot be worn anymore. Normally they'll last about a year or more before it needs replacing.
Of all my friends who saw me wore boots only 1 got it right on the reason why I wore boots :D and it's comfortable.
Memories
I'm now at home in Klang after some weekends away from home (currently I'm residing in Tanjung Malim, Perak some 100km away from Klang). I was browsing through the folders in the computers at home when I happened to see this picture:
I love traveling too much. It's in my blood I guess. In Malaysia, I haven't been to Sarawak only. I've been to Sabah last month with my dad. But I was left to explore KK on my own since my dad had to visit practical students all over Sabah anyway.
I love Hong Kong too. You can get around practically anywhere with the reliable public transport. And the architecture is so modern!
I've never been to Bandung or Indonesia though. I would love too but I've no friends to go with. Traveling to Indonesia would be like returning to my maternal grandparents home where they came from before migrating to Mersing, Johor in 1942, especially my arwah Atuk Hassan. I have his picture when he was 10 years old with his uncle before sailing to Mersing, Johor from Banjarmasin, Indonesia. I guess that's why I loved the sea so much. It's in my blood.
Now where should I go next year?
Kelengkapan Rumah
Alhamdulillah semalam dah lengkap kelengkapan rumah aku kat Tanjung Malim ni.
Lagipun bila beli makanan masa tengah lapar semua depan mata nak diborong. Bila time berbuka tak habis.
Sakit Kepala
Lately I've been having mild migraine attacks at no specific time. My handbag is full of medication such as Ponstan & Uphamol 500. Panadol? It doesn't work for me anymore. I know I shouldn't pop a lot of these pills. But the things is, when the headache attacks comes, my mood will turn sour and will affect my colleagues as I tend to lash out at them or I will not be coorperative with them.
So to safeguard the harmonious relationship with colleagues in the office, I'm willing to sacrifice my 'health conscious' and pop the yellow & white pills. See..I'm a good person.
Oh..I do cut down on the 'sukatan'. Only 1 pill at a time.
Sedang Menunggu Buku
Hari ni dah masuk suku ke-3 tahun 2009. Pembelian buku aku sungguh tidak memberangsangkan. Tidak sampai lagi Rm500. Hmm..sebenarnya aku sedang menunggu buku yg dipesan dari MPH bulan 6 hari tu. Buku Dan Brown yang terbaru. Nampak gayanya bulan depan baru sampai buku tu. Sambil tu baca la buku-buku tahun lepas yang belum habis dibaca pun.
Satu masalah aku ni, tak boleh nak baca buku diluar lingkungan minat. Nak baca buku chic-lit rasa terhalang je. Kalau pegi kedai tu duk pegang-pegang, fikir nak beli, tak nak, nak beli, tak nak. Akhirnya letak balik kat rak. Nak pinjam pun rasa macam entah bila nak baca. Semacam ada halangan minda nak membaca buku-buku macam tu.
Books & An Update
Berikut senarai nya:
- Handle With Care: Motivating & Retaining Employees - Barbara A. Glanz
- Malaysia Dalam Peralihan: Ceritalah 1 - Karim Raslan
- The One-Page Project Manager - Clark A. Campbell
- Mikahil - Ramlee Awang Mursyid
- The Girl Who Played With Fire - Stieg Larsson
- Yakjuj & Makjuj: Bencana Di Sebalik Gunung - Muhammad Alexander
- Mushaf Tajwid Beserta Terjemahan ke Dalam Bahasa Malaysia
- Majalah NUR Ogos 2009
- Blueprint Asia
Akak tau buku akak banyak buku hilang terutamanya semua buku karya Habiburrahaman El Shirazy & Zaid Akhtar. Akak sayang buku tau. Itulah harta akak!
Congratulations!

Orang Nak Bagi Duit Nih...

Saya Tidak Memasak
Saya tidak memasak sudah berbulan-bulan lamanya. Saya tidak pandai memasak? Pandai..cuma saya malas. Lagipun saya kan anak kesayangan mak ayah saya sekarang, jadi selalunya kalau saya balik Klang hidangan sudah tersedia...hahaha (jangan marah ye mama, abah..nanti Huda masakla..). Kat rumah sewa pun saya tak masak.
Satu lagi perkara, saya jarang makan malam pun. Waktu siang selalunya makan di ofis. Kalau balik rumah takde makanan, saya tidak kisah. Tetapi mengapa saya masih gemuk?! Hmm..satu kemusykilan nih..
Makanan kegemaran saya? Kuew Tiow goreng! Tapi versi saya masak la..orang lain punya tak sedap..hahaha :D
Minggu ni sahaja dah 6 kali ulang-alik Tanjung Malim - Klang. Sungguh tak larat kerana memandu sejauh 98km sehala setiap kali. Sudah tentu minyak & tol sekali pergi dah RM25. 6 kali pergi? Kiralah sendiri..
Of Anxiety & Depression - an INFJ
Let me start off by saying that depression is very real and is considered a medical diagnosis. Any one that believes truly depressed people are just faking or lazy have no knowledge of the illness. I am 34, an INFJ, finishing up my doctorate in clinical psychology, and have suffered from depression and anxiety for most of my life. I also work a lot with trauma victims and those with childhood abuse. If most INFJ's are like me, they are sensitive to social cues and are able to read people´s emotional states and reactions, hence the "psychic" attributes of the INFJ subtype. INFJ´s also tend to internalize stressors and are very sensitive to criticism and rejection.
Given our "psychic" capabilities, we can often see these things even when people do not verbally express them. Since INFJ´s work very hard to make their environment harmonious, that also means they work very hard to avoid conflict - this can often lead to anxiety and depression. INFJ´s often look at the bigger picture and at the ways things "should be." Having the "judgment" characteristic tends to make INFJ´s not only want the way things "should be," but to also work towards it. This can often cause distress because things hardly ever measure up to the way we want things to be. This of course includes our work lives, social lives, and intimate relationships.
In relationships, INFJ´s can often read their partners´ internal state, respond accordingly, and thus avoid conflict. However, since INFJ´s make up less than 1% of the population, and males account for even less, what are the chances of meeting someone that can read our internal states and respond accordingly? Not only that, since INFJ´s are very sensitive to rejection and have a difficult time opening up to others, they may find it very difficult to express their needs to their partner.
Consequently, some INFJ´s will feel that their partner does not care to the extent that they do and will fail to have their needs met. They will then withdrawal and isolate themselves - this often results in feelings of anxiety and depression (actually
internalized anger often expresses itself in depression). It appears to me that INFJ´s are almost prone to feelings of anxiety and depression. The extent of these symptoms can of course be mediated by the INFJ´s social support system. Do they have caring and understanding parents? Do they have 1 - 2 close friends they can open up to? Do they have a partner that they are able to open themselves up to?
Overall, let´s look at the INFJ characteristics - they often feel the pain and sadness in others; work to try to alleviate that pain to only feel overwhelmed; work to make the world a better, safer place; are sensitive to criticism and rejection; and tend to feel isolated. These are all a recipe for anxiety and depression.
An excerpt from my mailing list. This is what I wanted to say actually but can't convey it perfectly to others on why I was in a foul mood the last 2 days. Internalized anger it is..
Exam Result
I just checked online for my MSc. first semester exam result and what a surprise I got!
Alhamdulillah I scored 3.78 for my CGPA! YEAY! So HAPPY!!..
Hehe..iyelah..seumur hidup masa belajar diploma and degree tak pernah lepas pun 3.0. So rasa seronok sangat. Hilang demam hari ni.
My Day Today
Today I didn't go to work at my site office because I had to attend my cousin's wedding in Ampang. So I departed from Tanjung Malim around 8.40am taking the old trunk road to Ulu Yam. Along the way I passed Kalumpang, Batang Kali, Kuala Kubu Baru, Ulu Yam, Batu Caves, Gombak, Keramat, Melawati before I reached Ampang. Surprisingly though the distance between Tanjung Malim to Ampang is about 85km but the travel took me nearly 1 1/2 hours. The travelling distance between Tanjung Malim and my house in Klang is about 103km but the time taken is only 45min to 1 hour.
I attend the nikah ceremony at 10.30am and the wedding reception at 12.30pm. By 3.00pm I went to AEON Setiawangsa. I wanted to buy handbag (oh no! not another one again) and a shoe but I ended up buying car shampoo, wax and etc and oh yes, a gym ball (the only exercise that I can do). I drove back around 5.30pm and reach home at 6.00pm where I immediately started to wach the car. Here's the sequence:
Part 1 (6.00pm - 7.30pm)
- Shampoo car
- Wash car
- Wipe car clean
- Kilatkan tayar jadi hitam
- Apply RainX to all windows
- Apply headlamp shine
- Apply tyre rim shine
- Wax the whole car
Ok see u soon.
Rumahku dah bersawang
Setelah sekian lama, ni baru nak update blog. Bukan apa, kat site ni internet share, Wireless tak masuk pulak kat laptop aku. Hmm..keje apa kat site? Keje kuli je..ahaha!
Panas kat site ni, mau gelap dibuatnya tapi yg pelik tu berat badan pun naik! Lagi satu, makanan kat sini murah juga la. Makan pagi RM2 & makan tengahari RM3@4. Kalau bernasib bai,k selalu orang belanja. Duit RM50 tu kalau dalam masa 1 minggu memang tak habis la. Kalau keje Shah Alam, fuh! RM50 tu dua hari je habis. Yelah, makan tengahari je dekat RM 10. Adoi!
Kat Shah Alam workstation aku share dengan orang lain, kat site office ni aku ada ofis sendiri. Kira apa yang duk angan-angan selama ni untuk ada bilik sendiri telah menjadi kenyataan! hahaha..power of dreams beb! plus my Senior Project Manager needs me here at site :P
So sakit duit minyak & tol je la. Tapi takpe boleh claim.
Hmm..tp frust juga last month tak dapat pi Bookfair. The 1st time in years aku tak dapat pegi! Masa tu memang sibuk sesangat-sangat! Pasal apa ntah tak ingat pulak aku.
Awal bulan hari tu, aku exam & submit semua assignment masters aku. Exam OB je. Senang ke tak aku tak tau la. Aku start baca buku pun jam 8pg, and exam start kul 2.30pm. Cara tak? Memang la aku ni giler! Bukan apa sebab malam tu aku duk siapkan assignment yg macam thesis yg aku tak tahu pun camne nak buat. Tapi in the end tak submit juga masa exam tu. Submit 1 minggu kemudian.
A Quickie
Yeay! Finally Streamyx is working perfectly at site. Am blogging after 3 hours meeting with the consultants. Tomorrow there will be another meeting with JKR in the morning. This week has been a marathon of meetings!!!
Apologize for not Updating
It's been a while since I updated my blog. I apologize if anyone is waiting to hear what I've been doing lately. Well here's a re-cap:
- Officially became a 30 year old sophisticated lady on 20/03/79 :D
- Now station at site but currently going back and forth between site & HQ. But normally I'll be at HQ on Thursday, due to classes on Wednesday & Thursday night.
- Yep..busy, busy & busy or in other words, alternating doing too many things!
p/s: I'm updating from my university computer lab :P
Iklan...
Sedang aku menunggu kereta ku di basuh di 'car wash', aku membelek-belek majalah Anis keluaran bulan Mac 2009. Sedang selak-selak halaman aku ternampak iklan ini:
TEMUI KAMI DI PESTA BUKU ANTARABANGSA KUALA LUMPUR 2009 - RUANG LEGAR, PWTC.
17-26 APRIL 2009
Assignments
Apologize for not updating my blog. The reasons being that I'm busy lately with work and assignments. The assignments are as follows:
- Framework - FM management in building (multi-tenant or single-tenant). I just interviewed the management of the office tower where my company resides today. Report & presentation to be submitted by 2/4/09.
- IT - Macromedia Director presentation for company. This has to include 3D Xara, Swishmax, VCD Cutter, etc. Report & presentation by 16/4/09.
- Organisational Behaviour - This one has not been given yet by Dr. Hadi. Am still waiting.
- Management - To do 2 page summary of 5 articles. 1 down 4 to go. To be submitted by 1/4//09.
- Autocad - luckily I'm pro at this class so the lecturer gave me full mark for attending class. Assignments & projects will be done in class. That's a relief.
- Section 2 of UPSI project is on. Aiyoh! Die aa like this! Punca-punca stress sudah pun bermula.
- I may be station on site for 2 days in a row. So 2 days at site & 3 days at HQ. Travelling = 180km ulang alik. Toll = RM22.20 ulang alik. So I'm tired all the time. But at least the solitary drive will allow me time to plan, think, listen to the radio loudly, sing along loudly..basically a 2 hour uninterrupted time for myself which I really, really need to energize myself.
- Jahit manik on my friend's mum tudung for her wedding on 25/04/09. Ni pun terberhenti sekejap. Banyak lagi nak kena jahit tu.
- 3D design of a friend's bungalow. Construction work to start in June. He has asked me to modify the design and I have yet to amend it. Once completed, the design work will earn me some RM1000 in fees :D itu harga kawan-kawan ye. Kalau tidak saya charge RM2000 for single storey bungalow & RM4000 for double storey bungalow.
Thank you.
Learning to Let Go
18 days from now, I'll be in my 30's. 30 years of life experience. 30 years of ups and downs. Coming to 30, there is one important lesson that I've learned while in my 20's, learn to let go. It is not easy and cannot be taught from 1 person to another. Even the understanding of it cannot transcend from one person to another. Through life experiences especially the heartbreaking ones, you will understand what I mean.
I learn to let go my grudges against people, even the ones who causes me pain.
I learn to let go my anger on petty matters.
I learn to let go money owed to me.
I learn to let go hurtful remarks made by friends.
I learn to let go all the bad things that has happened to me & not blame it on others.
You may ask how I did it.
It is hard to let go, but it is easy if it is paired with 'patience'. I love my life now. For those who intend to inflict pain on me, I will not be angry with you. I will be sad because you chose that kind of attitude when you actually can choose a different path.
Being angry at people literally makes your heart ache. To erase the pain, you have to learn to let go. Don't go around telling people that person A have wronged you and he/she should apologize. Why don't you apologize first? Problem with people now is that they are not listening to the other side. They think they are right therefore people should apologize to them. I feel sad for this kind of people because to me, they have miss out on the beauty of life.
This Crazy Life
"I love this crazy, tragic, sometimes almost magic, awful, beautiful life"
"I wanted a perfect ending...Now I've learned the hard way that some poems don't rhyme and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, and taking the moment and making the best of it without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity."

ASLM
Dear friends,
It is now 4 days since we returned from our trip to Gaza /Cairo. Have been awaiting my respected elders/colleagues) to input first but since there appears none forthcoming, I will write my thoughts and experience and humbly request them to correct or input as necessary. (Pleae note These are my own personal views and do not represent any organisation including MERCY Malaysia. Please forward with discretion )
We left on a MERCY Malaysia mission on the 27th of January ( 8days after unilateral truce by
Israel) after filling up our wills in sealed envelopes. Sent off by The MERCY office team,Dr Faizal Perdaus (acting Prez MERCY) our families and Dr Musa (x prez PPIM). The team consisted of Prof Hatta Shahrom (x PPIM president), Dr Fauziah Hassan (O&G, APSH,x treasurer,MERCY Malaysia), Dr Norherah, (Family practitioner) , Ms Reem Bashir( a sudanese psychologist) . After a 12 hour flight, 2 hrs stop ( no deplane in mumbai) we arrived in Cairo at 5 am on the 28th. Immediate briefing and off we were to the Rafah border about 4 hrs away except our driver got lost and we got a free tour of the sinai and the Suez canal. We finally reached the Rafah Egyptian border crossing at 430 pm. After 40 mins (which is like a record ,as most people who try to get into Gaza never manage to, and those who do wait hours to days on end, many leave for home with just having seen this border crossing.) we were through Egyptian Immigration. We praise Allah for everything.
We entered Gaza with the Azan of magrib at abt 530pm with the MERCY logistics officer En Hapis. On hand to greet us were Dr Ikram (Anaes Lecturer CUCMS) and Dr Al Amin(Surgeon Tawakal) who were the initial team in.(they had come in the day of the truce or just after). We proceeded to Palestinian immigration and were welcomed warmly. Prof Hatta even managed to get a soda from one of the officers. We then went to our lodgings and met the previous team under Dr Heng.,Drs Lai, Azlina, Asmarawati, Khairol, Shamsul.
Dr Azhar Abdul Aziz (x VP MERCY )who had come with the Qatar team was also there. I had tried to meet him in Kl last summer but Allah planned for us to meet in war torn Gaza.
We had been assigned to Nasser hospital,in Khan Younis, 20 mins north of Rafah, named after the Egytian prez who had funded it. 300 bed and handled 500 patients during the Israeli aggression. Some department good, most run down. Many equipment down as no spare parts allowed in and no maintenance. The only equipment working in physiotherapy was the manual one and one traction. The rest were all broken down. The ECG, EST machines etc were ancient. Dr Fauziah, Dr Norhera served the OG departemt and other O&G hospitals and saw areas that needed improvement. Prof Hatta and Ms Reem were taken on trips to asess the psychosocial needs of the Gazans.
On the first day there was a drone attack in front of the hospital. Maybe 10-15 m from where I was doing my rounds. There was a loud bang, flames and massive smoke. 2 mujahidin on a motor bike had been targeted by the drone. Both survived alhamdulillah altho one had to go to Ot. 2 other passers by were also sent to OT.13 kids who were around had to be treated for
shrapnel wounds. Prof Hatta who had gone to A&E noted that the children were stoic and did not cry even though they were in obvious pain. Most treated as outpatients. This was during a supposed truce. Death is very near in Gaza.
We toured the areas of destruction and I found comparison with the Earthquate in Adapazari in Turkey where we had also been on a MERCY mission. Whole blocks were flattend. Olive groves were uprooted, schools, Universities, mosques were not spared. Parliament was destroyrd.Even UN schools, building were damaged. The Islamic Universtity of Gaza had two blocks that housed 75 labs totally destroyd. They ahd just acquired some DNA machines abt 3 million worth as they have quite bit of genetic disease in Palestine. These wrere destroyed. The dean of Medicine was an old friend from my days in Dublin. Holds an Irish passport but when asked to evacute by the Irish ambasador in Tel Aviv he refused.Indeed we were told that when the borders were opened Gazans came back instead of leaving for Egypt.."This is our land, we were born here and we
will die here" was what they said.
The mosques in front of Shifa hospital was just a pile of rubble with a fruit carton written on it masjid Shifa. The new wing of the hospital had also been hit. This hospital had been taking the brunt of the casualties. They have a collection of gruesome slides of the victims, killed, maimed, kids adults, women.. At the height of the conflict they were taking in 200 patients an hour.
The homes of ordinary Gazans were also piles of rubble. Some had just been built. They had moved to relatives homes or had to erect temporrary shelters.one was just the black plastic sheeting It was winter and I was wrapped in 4 layers. I wonderd how they coped especially the kids. May Allah always protect them.
Everywhere we went were greeted very warmly that we were feeling guilty. We would be served good food although I don't believe they themselves were taking as good as they were
serving their guests. This was true Muslim Arab hospitality. In severe adversity , guests were still treated well. May Allah increase His bounty on them.
We heard stories of the mujahideen and the help that Alllah had sent them. Malaikat had come and fought with them. One mujahid had been blown up to pieces and the only piece of him left had a beautiful aroma that was smelt by all the villager who had come. They would be hiding and waiting for the enemy for days surviving only on water and dates. Tanks would blow up and their explosives still be intact. A mujahid heard a voice telling him to wait in his hiding place till he had a chance to strike the enemy, which he did. The enemy claimed that they had fought with
ghosts and with people in white uniforms. The mujahideen did not wear white uniforms. May Allah always be with the steadfast.
The thing that struck us most was their spirit. Indeed they were carrying on as normal a life as they could. As much as the enemy wanted them to surrender and cower they stood firm and fought. For 23 days they were bombarded from sea, land and air and they were steadfast. The craters made by F 16 bombs were nearly two storeys high! The enemy with 500 tanks could not enter the cities except fight at the peripheries. In the 6 day war(1967) 3 Arab nations were defeated in 6 days! We were told that there were even weddings during the onslaught. Children were playing football and were trying to go to school. May Allah continue to be with them.
We met amazing people. A lady we met told us that after the enemy had bombed the mosques her 14 year old son would pray every prayer in the mosque for he wished to be syahid while worshipping Allah. She had told him that if he decided to become a mujahid himself he must tell her so as for her to make doa for him and not find out only when he was syahid. Prof Hatta/Ms Reem were offered bowls of soup by a refugee grandma who had her grandson syahid. She was sitting amongst a pile of rubble that had been her abode. After relating her story to them and crying a minute she offered the little food she had to them. May Allah alleviate all their suffering!
Everytime we asked "What can we do for you?" The answer would be; "Please do not stop making doa for us"
They did not ask for money or food or anything material only that we do not stop beseeching Allah to help them in their struggle against a merciless enemy.
We met with persons who told us "We promise you three things:-
- We will defend this land
- We will liberate this land
- We will pray with you in Al Aqsa one day soon"
Medically the Drs are quite a lot. They however have not been able to leave Gaza for training and some of them had not been out for 10-12 years,.They thus need help in training. Equipment needs to be upgraded and new equipment added. InsyaAllah we have made these recommendations to MERCY Malaysia. There is also plan to build a rehab centre in south Gaza. There is a state of the art one in North Gaza that was damaged but still functioning. There is also plan to setup a MERCY Malaysia-Palestine psychosocial centre.
We were supposed to stay till the 4th February but were asked to evacuate as there was worry about increased bombings. There had been one near our lodgings the day after
we arrived. On midnite of the 1st we received sms and calls from the embassy, and MERCY base camp Cairo for us to evacuate asap. We heard six bombs dropped by F16s near the house and the house shuddered with the explosions. We moved to the ground floor and evacuated the next day back to cairo.
We had few more meetings to attend and a few more things to do but fate was such that we had to leave. We could leave when things got hot but the Gazans cannot. As Mr Ging , UN officer in Gaza said , "There is no safe place in Gaza".
Indeed, Death is close in Gaza or tis the shortest path to Jannah
I wish to record my gratitude to
- Our understanding families who had understood the need for us to go
- MERCY Malaysia for providing the opportunity
- The MERCY team in Cairo
- The Malaysia Embassy in Cairo who had been amazingly helpful in facilitating our entry into Gaza especially En Fauzi
- My extraordinary teammates, May Allah bless them all.
Wassallam and May Allah protect all those in Gaza,
jeff
Can Someone Tell Me?
Assalamualaikum,
Can someone tell me what I have now is suffice for me?
Can someone tell me that I am a special person?
Can someone tell me that I am indeed bless to be able to further my studies & go around the world?
Can someone tell me that I am indeed a lucky person?
Truth be told I am wondering if I'm missing something...
All my friends are married with at least 2 kids & I'm still single.
By the time they're in their 40's their kids have gone to secondary school I'd probably be still single?
*Sigh*...I'm in a depressed mood..
And yes what I've been through has somewhat change me permanently inside.
Make Cake in a Mug - wikiHow
When your sweet cravings kick in but you don't have time to bake something tasty and warm, here's an excellent recipe to make a simple, quick and easy chocolate cake. It's a great cooking lesson for kids, and a different way to use hot chocolate mix any time of the year. Share this recipe with everyone and use this as a "friendly" treat for friends.
Ingredients
Recipe 1 - Chocolate cake
- 9 tablespoons hot chocolate powder mix
- look for sugar-free, calcium fortified mix for a healthier cake

- 4 tablespoons flour

- for a healthier recipe, use canola oil, and replace half the oil with apple sauce
- 3 tablespoons water
- Pinch of salt
- 4 Tbsp. cake flour
- if you don't have cake flour, sift 1 cup all-purpose flour and 2 Tbsp cornstarch
- other kinds of flour will work as well, but the cake will be heavier
- if you don't have cake flour, sift 1 cup all-purpose flour and 2 Tbsp cornstarch
- 4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 egg
- 3 Tbsp. milk (any kind)
- 3 Tbsp. oil (any kind but peanut)
- splash in a little vanilla
- 1/3 cup yellow cake mix
- 1 egg white
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon water
- topping mix (optional)
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped pecans
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- Grease the inside of the mug with cooking spray.
- Measure and pour the dry ingredients into the mug. Stir ingredients with a spoon.
- Crack the egg and add it to the mug. Stir to get the egg incorporated in the dry ingredients.
- Measure and pour the wet ingredients into the mug.
- Stir and beat everything together to get a "cake batter" mix. Use your spoon to scrape the bottom. Fold the bottom mixture onto the top a few times to get all of the dry ingredients (chocolate powder and flour) moistened and incorporated with the wet ingredients (water, egg, and oil).
- Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Timing may be different for various watt amounts.
- Watch as the cake starts to rise while in the microwave.
- Use a potholder or oven mitt to remove the mug from the microwave.
- Remove the cake from the mug. Take a fork and cut the cake into 4 pieces (quarters). Cutting the cake will help it cool down faster, as steam "escapes" easier.
- Garnish the cake with ice cream, whipped cream, glaze, syrup, or the topping of your choice.
- For an extra treat, add a few mini marshmallows (you can learn how to marshmallows from scratch!) or chocolate chips before you put the mug into the microwave. If you're using marshmallows, be sure to "protect" your microwave tray by lining the bottom with paper towels.
- As soon as you remove the cake from the mug, be sure to soak the mug with water immediately. It will be harder to clean it if not taken care of or tossed into the dishwasher "as is".
- When you remove the cake from the mug, the bottom may still be in a liquid form. This is okay and if you wish to, place the cake back in the microwave for a longer time.

Oh dear...
As I write this, Klang is like a war zone with heavy fireworks going off here there & everywhere. As I mentioned before, come rain or shine the Chinese never fail to lit up fireworks on the Chinese New Year eve, and now on the 9th day they're doing it again.
I'm waiting for the Chap Goh Mei, where it will be the final day...
3rd Nephew
My sister gave birth to her 3rd son at 1.39pm today at Poliklinik Umra, Section 13, Shah Alam. Alhamdulillah...
In the event she was absent from morning until now, me, my other sisters, my mom & dad has been appointed the task of baby sitting for the other 2 boys.
Luckily (or rather unfortunately) I had migraine today so I stayed home. My sister no.9 was at home too but she couldn't take care of 2 hyper-talking & hyper-active boys on her own. So it was me & sister no.9 until my mother came home at 3pm. My mom fed the boys and after that they went to sleep. In the evening, their father came home to fetch them to the clinic to see their new-born brother.
Ingat senang nak jaga anak?
Pagi tadi anak-anak buah aku ni habiskan setengah botol sabun (300ml) semasa mandi. Patutlah bila aku turun wangi semacam satu rumah. Sampai tengahari pun, bau wangi masih ada. Sudahnya, sabun langsung tiada kat bilik air sekarang ni.
Masa tengahari sebelum mak aku balik, adik aku tertidur sekejap, aku pula kat atas tengah kat komputer ni, sekali dengar budak-budak tu jerit, "Mana semua orang ni?!" Apalagi bergegas aku turun bawah.
Pulak tu dari pagi sampai ke malam ni, asyik nak nyanyi Bob The Builder je..haha..sampai aku pun dah hafal terutamanya lagu Big Fish, Little Fish tu..seronok..
Hai..lepas ni siapa la nak jaga anak-anak buah aku 2 orang tu sementara maknya berpantang..
Oh ye, gambar anak buah baru takde, tapi Masya'Allah..warna pink sangat-sangat. Berat pun 3.2kg.
I Love Fridays
I love Fridays at my office. Why?
Because in the morning we have potluck where everyone is welcome to bring food or buy food as breakfast up until noon. Sometimes around 6 people will bring food and sometimes only 1 person will bring food for about 20 people in the office. But that does not matter. What matters is that the whole office can interact informally whether you're the boss or staff and comment on the food, morning news, etc. Plus we get 'pahala' for doing it won't we if consider the food as sadaqah to our friends.
And in the afternoon for about 1 hour and sometimes 1 1/2 hours, the ladies in the office will gather around for tazkirah session or should I say an 'usrah'. Normally my boss will chair the session and right now we are discussing on any issues relating to the ummah or if we have anything interesting to discuss with others. Starting next week we will have a silibus to follow so that our tazkirah is conducted in an orderly & consistent manner.
With our age ranging from 23 to 45 years old, you can expect there's a lot of discussion going around. It is the best medium I should say to dispense what Islam says about certain issues which in my opinion the younger ones does not have anyone to turn to ask in detail. With the informal ambience and my boss's husband being an Ustaz (which is an added bonus as my boss usually provides info base on discussion with her husband) we usually can go on for hours, untill we realise that we were hungry! Though I suspect some of them are unwilling participant, but lets lets not go there shall we...
