Kakak ke-10

Friday, 12 March 2010
Assalamualaikum,

Tiba-tiba kan rindu kat Akak..yelah dah lama tak bertembung. Hujung minggu Akak balik rumah, Kak Huda kat Tanjung Malim. Bila hari biasa Kak Huda kat Klang, akak kat asrama.

Tahun ni ambik SPM 2010.

Dah besar dah adik Kak Huda ni. Lahir 12/12/1993. Masa Akak baru lahir tu, Kak Huda yg dukung bawak balik rumah sebab Akak besar! 4kg lebih! Hampir berat satu kampit beras 5kg tu!

Kenapa panggil Akak eh? Sebab Akak yg bongsu, jadi kakak-kakak 4 org atas dia bahasakan diri 'Akak' dengan bila bercakapa dengan Akak (konfius je kan..) Jadi Akak ingat 'Akak' tu panggilan untuk Akak. Jadilah sampai sekarang semua adik-beradik, mama & abah panggil Akak, 'Akak'..Hahaha..this is confusing!

Adik ipar ku kata, muka Aisyah bila berkerut macam dia (mama Aisyah), bila tenang macam adik aku (abah Aisyah) tapi yg pasti ramai kata mata Aisyah lawa...

3rd Nephew

Assalamualaikum,

My sister gave birth to her 3rd son at 1.39pm today at Poliklinik Umra, Section 13, Shah Alam. Alhamdulillah...

In the event she was absent from morning until now, me, my other sisters, my mom & dad has been appointed the task of baby sitting for the other 2 boys.

Luckily (or rather unfortunately) I had migraine today so I stayed home. My sister no.9 was at home too but she couldn't take care of 2 hyper-talking & hyper-active boys on her own. So it was me & sister no.9 until my mother came home at 3pm. My mom fed the boys and after that they went to sleep. In the evening, their father came home to fetch them to the clinic to see their new-born brother.

Ingat senang nak jaga anak?

Pagi tadi anak-anak buah aku ni habiskan setengah botol sabun (300ml) semasa mandi. Patutlah bila aku turun wangi semacam satu rumah. Sampai tengahari pun, bau wangi masih ada. Sudahnya, sabun langsung tiada kat bilik air sekarang ni.

Masa tengahari sebelum mak aku balik, adik aku tertidur sekejap, aku pula kat atas tengah kat komputer ni, sekali dengar budak-budak tu jerit, "Mana semua orang ni?!" Apalagi bergegas aku turun bawah.

Pulak tu dari pagi sampai ke malam ni, asyik nak nyanyi Bob The Builder je..haha..sampai aku pun dah hafal terutamanya lagu Big Fish, Little Fish tu..seronok..

Hai..lepas ni siapa la nak jaga anak-anak buah aku 2 orang tu sementara maknya berpantang..
Oh ye, gambar anak buah baru takde, tapi Masya'Allah..warna pink sangat-sangat. Berat pun 3.2kg.

Hannah's Cupcake

Monday, 1 December 2008
Assalamualaikum,

This is a cupcake baked by my youngest sister (no.10), Hannah. She'll make cupcakes for me anytime I requested for it. She baked this cupcake last night about 4 dozens. It is actually a chocolate chip cookie mixture, but somehow she modified it into cupcakes mixture. The outer crust look as if it is very hard, but it is not. It tastes yummy!

This is a close up. The size is actually very big

Thank You

Assalamualaikum,

To all my friends out there, thank you for being supportive & praying for the best for me. All of you have been a very good friend to me in this time of emotional need & fragility.

For those who don't know yet, my wedding has been 'postponed until further notice'.

I still believe that I will reach the end of the tunnel to find a beautiful place that will fill my heart. Insya'Allah

He is currently in Mansourah, Egypt studying Usuluddin. (Haidar, don't laugh at Akak ok? Sedih la nanti Haidar takde masa akak kawin. Takpe nanti akak lawat Haidar kat sana ye. Kita pi tengok Piramid :D )

Assalamualaikum,

My sister & I were at our friend's open house this afternoon (we came separately, I with my parents and she with her family). We were talking about something, when our former teacher, who was also there, remarked that we both talked as if we haven't met for a long time.

We both pause, and my sister said that it has been a week or so that we haven't met. I told her that I have been living in the same room with my sister for almost 25 years. We're roomates for so long, that we have shared so many things between us. The longest we haven't met nowadays is 2 weeks.

I used to fight with her on nitty gritty matters, we share clothes, she's the one who cleans the toilet  & I cleaned our bedroom. We were even in the same faculty. She in Quantity Surveying while I were in Architecture. We also share the same transport. Although some of my friends doesn't believe that she's my sister. We both look different enough and some even assumed that she's the elder sister and I'm the younger ones. Well, she does looks more mature than me.

I was very worried when she was near to giving birth to her first born. I didn't sleep well until dawn because at that time our parents were performing the hajj. It overwhelmed me so much to see my first nephew. On her second born, she also called me to come to the hospital as at that time my parents were not around too. From time to time now I do called her to get some advice, to talk to my nephews and to just ask how she is.

True, after you have been together with someone for so long, and now you don't live together, you will miss them even for a short while. After all, she is my sister forever here and the hereafter.

Selamat Belajar

Thursday, 11 September 2008
Assalamualaikum,

Ramadhan Kareem

Friday, 5 September 2008
Assalamualaikum,

Hari ni dah masuk hari ke 5 Ramadhan. Moga kita terus berusaha untuk mengurangkan dosa, menambahkan pahala, membanyakkan amal, menguatkan iman & mengukuhkan takwa.

:D bukan sebarang makan ye, tapi masakan ayahanda tercinta. Kalau abah takde kat rumah, saya dan mama macam mati kutu je nak masak apa. Tapi kalau abah ada, wah! dari 'nothing to something' la dia masak. Memang sedap masakan abah. Semua 10 orang anaknya akui itu..cewah..puji abah sendiri ni :D

Berbuka puasa setakat ni masih di rumah & masak sendiri. Belum lagi beli juadah berbuka (tak teringin nak pegi pun pasar Ramadhan ni).

In Loving Memory

Saturday, 26 July 2008
Assalamualikum,

Today on this date, 4 years ago she passed away leaving her parents & siblings at the age of 27. And she became national news - murdered by a jealous ex-boyfriend. She was my cousin.
She died just 1 week before receiving her Masters degree. She died one week after buying a new car. I can't tell you how it feels to lose someone close to you that way. I remember that day when my mother told me the news. She died 6 months after my grandfather passed away.

I just came home around Maghrib after class when my mother told me,

"Huda, Kak Ayu dah meninggal".

I was like, "Ha?! Kak Ayu mana ni? Betul ke Kak Ayu? Bila dia meninggal? Kenapa?!"

I was in total disbelief. I thought my mother mentioned the wrong person. But seing my mothers red eyes confirmed the truth. I heard my uncle was the last to see her alive at the hospital bed. My aunt & her other siblings didn't manage to. How devastating for them. Since then, there was not a day were my aunt never shed her tears over her eldest daughter.

The man responsible for the murder is in jail. But the final verdict has not been reached yet. The case is still ongoing. My uncle never fails to attend the court hearing. Harian Metro sometimes carry the court story.

I remembered my cousin or Kak Ayu as a very determined & focused person. Her mother & my mother are sisters. Kak Ayu was 2 years older than I am. In fact Kak Ayu was my idol of some sort. When I was in standard 6, I wanted to be like her. She went to MRSM Taiping to do her Form 4 & 5. She wanted to study overseas but did not manage to do so. Till know I'm still inspired by her. During the last year before her death when we all 'balik kampung' to Mersing, Johor, I always saw her studying DNA as she was taking Masters in Genetics. I can recall her voice vividly, her laughter until today. Her favourite or a must eat menu when 'balik Mersing' will be Maggi Mee.

Since her death, my aunt & uncle never fails to visit her grave every day. To lose a baby that you had for a few days is hard, what more losing a child that you raised for 27 years, it's even harder because you have so much memory of her/him. You have photos of them growing up, their achievements, their joy, their birthdays, and so on. Going to my aunt's house now, I can hardly see any pictures of Kak Ayu anymore in the house. I guest it's difficult for the whole family. Even to mention her name is hard.

As my late grandmother advised us, never turn back when you have begun your journey if you left something behind. It's bad luck. It's not bad luck per-se. But the psychological effect of it. You will feel,"Oh, how did I forget to bring along..." and the you will feel unsettled and not focused on the road. In Kak Ayu's case she did turn back halfway on her journey back to her parents house that night. But to me it's not because of bad luck but because Allah has set that her time on earth is up.

I pray that Kak Ayu died a 'syahid' as she was defending for her life when she died.

Al-Fatihah to Kak Ayu. You will always be in our loving memory...

My Nephews

Tuesday, 22 July 2008

Assalamualaikum

Here are my 2 nephews. They call me 'Mak Long'. The big brother (wearing the skull cap) is called 'Abg Wan' a.k.a Marwan Syaheed and he is 3 1/2 years old. The little brother is called 'Adik Taareq' a.k.a Taareq Zayyad and he is 1 1/2 years old.

Abg Wan likes to talk and talk and talk non-stop. He will ask about anything on everything. He can identify car types & logos. He likes to play computer games and knows how to search for Dora The Explorer website on the internet.

While Adik Taareq only knows a few words - ayah, air, tayar, mama, awak & atuk. Say the word 'ayam' to him he will say 'uuk..ook' as in a rooster cock-a-doodle-do (I can't find the right word in my head). Although he doesn't say much, he understands what is being said to him. Ask him to go to the kitchen, he will go to the kitchen. He loves running around, climb the door grill, play in the porch area if the he has the chance and being taken for a walk. This boy is a bundle of energy. No wonder my sister is thin.
