1st Day of Ramadhan

Assalamualaikum

1st day of Ramadhan was full of challenges for me in terms of health. The night after Tarawih prayers I started feeling nauseas. And true enough I started vomiting the whole night & having diarrhea until the next day. I couldn't even sleep properly. I woke up every 1 to 2 hours to rush to the toilet. My housemate were all sleeping soundly so I was glad I didn't disturb their sleep.

During sahur I couldn't even eat anything as I was afraid I would throw up after that. I manage to eat 2 kurma & half a glass of warm water. I was supposed to go back to Shah Alam that morning as my Masters group is having discussion for our assignments. But I was so weak from all that vomitting & diarrhea that I couldn't even stand up. After Sahur I even performed the Solat Sunat Hajat asking God to grant me the strength to fast for the day.

While my housemates all went to work I stayed at home sleeping most of the day. And I started having fever too. But I really wanted to go home as I feel that I'll get better in a familiar surrounding with my family (guess I miss my mom so much).

At 6pm I departed from Tanjung Malim to Shah Alam with my housemate. I wanted her to drive my car but I guess I'm the kind of person who don't want to bother people too much, so I drove myself, even though at that time I was having fever.

We reach her housemate house in Shah Alam just in time to break fast. I could only eat kurma & little pieces of murtabak & drank a glass of orange juice. My mother SMS'ed me asking whether I was coming home & was I having fever as my family was going to my grandmother's house. I told I was, and my mother replied that she will ask someone to come home and accompany me.

I went home after break fast at my friend's house and after performing the Maghrib prayer I slept the whole night. My mother SMS'ed me that night that no one could come home to accompany me and asked me to take care of myself. I was ok with that.

Sahur this morning was also difficult for me. My mother left some spaghetti for me the night before. I was hungry and tried to eat more but all I could swallow was a spoonful and no more. After Subuh I again slept until afternoon so that my fever will subside. But I do get that nauseas feeling until now.

All in all it reminded me that whatever we plan Allah decided.
