Assalamualaikum
Today is Malaysia's Election Day.
I went voting around 10.30am this morning. Kind of anti-climax feeling I think. Nothing much happened. Not much excitement. Maybe because it's still morning. Shah Alamers are still at home reading the newspaper. Polling stations near my house have much more excitement. It causes traffic jam. Maybe the people don't want to wait too long under the sun in the afternoon. Klang people are early riser anyway.
OK back to the polling station. I went to the booth where you can check your name and the which lane you're suppose to go. Actually I knew already where my lane was, but just to entertain the political party workers & volunteers, I went to check my name. Oh yes..met my best friend who is manning the booth there and also my mum's friend and dad's friends. Me & my dad voted on the same area, but I chose to go by myself as I was going to go a bit later than he is.
Once inside the school compound, I went straight to the 1st floor and enter the designated room. Not many people here. It's like they're coming in one by one. The SPR staff must be bored waiting. I then gave my MyKAD which they announce my IC no out loud and was issued 2 ballot paper. One to vote for Parliament candidates and one for DUN candidates. I then proceed to the cardbox cubicle and cross out the candidates that I prefer. Then I had to fold the ballot paper. Here where I took my time. I had to ensure that the folded paper will not open up once it is put in the new transparent box. When it's folded in 2, it keep opening up. So I folded it in 3. Is this considered OK? Hope it does not count as damaged vote.
Then after folding the ballot papers, I put it in the designated ballot box for Parliament & DUN. And then out I go. Finish. The whole process only took around 5 minutes from the time I arrived until I went home. Sort of an anti-climax sort of thing isn't it?
