Weighty Issues

Assalamualaikum,

Usually I'm not concern about my weight, but lately I am because I've developed double chin. I look ugly in photos! I'm conscious about it all the time right now. Well I do develop a few resolution to lose weight but it's all in my head, never written anywhere to be seen. Alas, with determination only in your mind, it will disappear into oblivion within time. Unless someone sees it and remind you of it less you forget. Then I found this website while trying to determine my Body Mass Index (BMI). I was attracted to a sentence in the website:

Try to Feel Good about yourself even if you are overweight.

Haha..that does feels nice in my heart. But seriously I need to lose about 12kg of weight to achieve the ideal weight. Thats a lot of work and consistent determination.

Okay, here I am writing down my resolutions to achieve ideal weight:
  1. I resolve to eat more fruits & vegetables and less fried food.
  2. I resolve to stop eating after 6pm. Unless I'm fasting on Monday & Thursday.
  3. I resolve to eat when hungry and stop when nearly full (follow the Prophet's sunnah)
  4. I resolve to drink water first on the first sign of hunger and wait for 15 minutes. If after that I still feel hungry, then I'm really hungry. If not it's a sign that I'm dehydrated.
  5. I resolve to eat like a king during breakfast, like a queen during lunch and a pauper during dinner.
  6. I resolve to eat a lot of fiber & wholemeal foodies.
  7. I resolve to do little exercise everyday.

8. I resolve not follow all of the above. Haha! Just joking. I resolve to commit myself to the above Insya'Allah.
